Quirky Tavern with Rooms.

Very quirky old inn. The landlady was super friendly. Value for money food menu (sadly no breakfast). 15 min walk to Piece Hall / townl so great location for us.

− It was awkward to move about the room due to the odd shape / placing of furniture but I'm not sure it could be improved at all. The shelf beneath the TV was hanging off the wall probably because someone knocked into it in the middle of the night, it's definitely an obstacle! Also the water pressure/ temperature fluctuated madly when other guests used water at the same time so my husband had a sudden cold blast followed by a very hot douse when he showered!

Warm friendly greeting in a quaint old fashioned off the road treasure of a find place. Booked for a concert at the piece hall, parking on site, lovely staff, good home cooked food and drink on site. Room was just as photo with fan and tea and coffee making facilities, pub food and seating outside. So happy we found this place it's only 10 minutes walk to venue. The room is dated but that's the appeal and was secure and comfortable and that's the charm. Breakfast next morning was 10 mins walk to cafe recommended by the inn and did not disappoint. Would highly recommend this little gem and would book again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Value for money, quaint location

− Disturbed sleep due to outside lighting, just vertical blinds on the window. Shower tray filled rapidly with water, poor drainage? No one around when checking out so put the keys through the main entrance letterbox.

Good location for an event at Piece Hall

A small room which was expected as seen from the photos and other reviews. The Bathroom is tiny, again as mentioned in other reviews, manageable, but would not suit a lot of people.

− The cobwebs! I am not one for negativity, but the bathroom and bedroom had thick cobwebs in areas with large spiders especially the windows, that had clearly been there quite a while. The entrance door was also covered in thick cobwebs, overall not very inviting for an arachnophobe!

Great location by the river and 15mins walk from the town centre. Quiet on a night time comfortable rooms with everything you need. On the small side but not a issue for us
