10.0Rathmore was everything we had hoped for a tranquil weekend escape. We stayed in the Shearer’s Quarters, separate from the main homestead and very private, with delicious meals delivered by Cally - the lamb ragu was a favourite, highly recommended. Both hosts, Richard and Cally, encouraged us to wander the historic property, which felt a little like stepping back in time to a more peaceful era. We even saw one of the dam’s resident platypus! Cally’s local suggestions enhanced our day trip to Mount Field NP and the Gordon Dam. I only wish we could have stayed longer to take better advantage of the many hidden treasures along the route. Our weekend was topped off by an impromptu tour of Rathmore House, a true beauty of a homestead and, despite the age, very much alive. Cally and Richard clearly love their home and sharing that joy with visitors.

8.0This was a lovely farm stay surrounded by sheep and countryside. Don’t expect to be close to any dining options but expect to be fully relaxed at the end of your stay. Make sure you give the bullock a slice of bread and walk to the lake.

10.0Beautifully converted shearer’s quarters with so many lovely touches. The communal kitchen provided a breakfast and all cooking options to be able to self cater with a roaring fire for heating. Very pleasant stay.
