Extremely clean hotel with great staff, but disappointed by unannounced local taxes.

We were extremely satisfied with the hotel's overall service and cleanliness. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was exceptionally clean, hygienic, and completely free of any insects or pests. It was a very comfortable stay.

− There is a serious lack of transparency regarding local taxes and fees. The prices at the venues were much higher than what we saw on the menus due to unwritten taxes. Most importantly, at checkout, we were unexpectedly charged a Green Tax of $12 per person. This was never communicated to us during the booking process or in our confirmation. Being forced to pay unannounced fees at checkout caused us unexpected financial strain and ruined our experience. Booking.com and the hotel must inform guests about these taxes in advance.

Third time coming back to SAii and still really enjoyed it, it’s amazing as usual. It’s been 2 years since I’ve last been here and I can tell that everything is well maintained, new appliances, new towels, beach beds, etc. which is really important. Staff is as friendly as they’ve always been :) food was exceptional this time at Terra&Mar!

− The only little thing that upset us was the breakfast during departure. Last two times we were able to go to the breakfast buffet upon opening early morning and have all food and drink and options available. This time, it was a “mini buffet” just because we were a bigger group checking out. However, this breakfast buffet was literally just some pastries, fruit, bread and cheese? And when we came up to it there was literally no one, and it was pitch dark so it kind of wasn’t the best farewell. Hoping this can be improved in the future :) joining the regular buffet was the ideal departure tbh. Still giving a 9 because there’s always room for improvement.

The distance from male city makes it great only a short ride

− Renting bicycles was a pain which shouldn't have been due to other guests stealing bicycles and the resort not taking any action on them rather than that they fine the person for getting their bike stolen. The resteraunts were underwhelming for their price points You cant go freely to male city and back which one would expect due to the fact that its so close to it Some of the furniture was stained which we would have expected to be cleaner

The views on the resort are very scenic and pretty, however the service of the hotel was not that good considering it’s

The overwater villa has a really nice view of the ocean almost fully uninterrupted. I liked that it was three islands connected to one, and multiple restaurants to choose from. As well as multiple stores to buy from.

− I didn’t like how there isn’t as much stingrays, fish, and sharks seen right from the overwater villa. Since the location is close to male island there isn’t as much sea animals to see from the villa. I didn’t like how the bikes weren’t included in our stay, and after purchasing bikes and locking them they still got stolen, and the hotel told us to still pay for it, even tho they gave us a faulty lock. I didn’t like the hotel services, couldn’t order much from the room as other resorts, can’t even order a fresh coconut!!!! To the room, which is honestly something all other resorts do. I didn’t like how it took too long to receive the buggy. The overwater villas are also really close to each other so there isn’t much privacy on the balcony and swimming.
