6.0Off to a bad start due to the, otherwise very pleasant, owner pouncing on us as we arrived following a day of travel. We really just wanted to be left alone to arrive and unpack. Not the right time to attempt to convey information and instructions as we unpacked from the car. Nicely situated geographically with a lovely view of the sea from the front facing windows (the only windows unfortunately) and front door. Unfortunately, a public footpath goes straight past your only windows and front door (and you need to keep the door open in warm weather) which meant no privacy and difficulties with dogs (ours and other dogs, one poorly controlled dog came straight in through the front door on one occasion). Gardens were lovely and well maintained but the cottage was damp smelling with visible mould and all the cupboards smelt of damp. The 'private' beach which is advertised as being accessible via a steep path is unacceptable as a serious injury could easily be sustained trying to access this beach as the path gives way to steep rocky drops which are incredibly dangerous. In summary, geographically advantageous cottage with all amenities but lacking in key areas as detailed.
