Exceptional
10.0Room super pretty and comfortable. The bar and lobby area is exquisite. Pools are fun and relaxing and lots to choose from. We took the historic tour and I recommend it. It was super fun and ended with a Tequila Sunrise which was delicious. Friendly tour guide!
− Really not much I can say about what I did not like.
A classic for a reason.
10.0What can I say that has not already been said? Probably not much but here goes... Arizona Biltmore is now part of the LXR range but I've also stayed when they were Waldorf-Astoria, as far as I can tell no difference. Both times I've stayed in the Ocatilla wing. Rooms are nice, clean, well equipped, and perfectly beige (in all senses of the word). Linens have always been clean and crisp and the overall room is very quiet so a good nights rest is entirely up to you. The resort really shines in the outdoor areas. Try out the different pools see which one is your favorite my personal fave is the Catalina which has never seemed very busy. The main pool "Paradise" is definitely the liveliest and the water slide is more than enough to keep kids (and yourself) entertained. The Wright Bar (which for some reason I always think is called 'Peacock') is the quintessential lobby corner bar. McArthur's is just fine and while somewhat basic should be able to satisfy your average cravings. Just be aware that the grass area near the Spire is often hosting a closed event, whether corporate or otherwise. Could just be timing on my part but both times it's been closed off. No problem for me, but you are pretty unlikely to be the star of the show here (which suits me just fine).
Historic Arizona
10.0Beautifully restored classic hotel. Nice amenities. Rooms are large and very comfortable. Good lighting and multiple electric outlets and USB ports. Beds are excellent. Entire property is immaculate. There are multiple buildings on site, most with their own swimming pools. We chose to stay in the main building due to both restaurants housed there. Multiple retail outlets on site including coffee shop/ice cream parlor. Only issue is that early AM every day the few pool umbrellas were already taken, Most of the umbrellas were reserved for those paying for the costly cabanas. More pool side umbrellas would be a welcome addition, particularly at the adults only pool. Take note that everything on property is subject to a historic preservation fee.
One of the best
10.0Just got back from an amazing Father's Day weekend. My wife and I brought my in-laws for the first time(our 4th visit). Everyone loved it. We had two amazing cottages, service in MacArthur's was spot on, adult pool staff were very professional, housekeeping did not miss a beat, and the bell staff never missed a beat. A couple of staff member that went above and beyond: Elizabeth-MacArthur's Yorling-Housekeeping Loren-Pool Cameron-Front Desk
must stay! great service and a beautiful hotel.
