Lovely hotel - ideal location, clean & comfy room and perfects hosts.
10.0Excellent location (can walk to Shanklin Chine, high street, beach in less than 10 minutes) with free on site parking. Our room was beautifully clean and the beds so comfortable with so many little added extras provided - everything you could possibly need and more! A mini fridge with water and fresh milk daily for hot beverages. A tower fan which cooled our room brilliantly at night in the heat we’re getting. Room was also cleaned daily whilst we were out. The hosts are super friendly and helpful (I believe they’d have accommodated anything we asked for or needed if they could). Can’t fault The Swiss Cottage - we will definitely return for future IOW trips.

8.0Kind staff, the place was absolutely spotless. Well stocked toiletries and tea/coffee/mini fridge (including a hot chocolate which I loved!) Good location, a short walk from the train station, the shops and the beach. Easy check in and check out process, and good communication from the hosts prior to arriving.
− I stayed during a heatwave and it was rather hot in the room, the fan did help somewhat. Though I imagine this is the case with most properties in the UK. The wifi didn't work throughout the whole room.

Ich hatte mehr erwartet
6.0Es gab viele Schubladen und einen großen Schrank im Zimmer, so dass man alle Sachen gut unterbringen konnte und nicht aus dem Koffer leben musste. Außerdem fand ich es nett, dass die Frühstückszeit unserem Wunsch angepasst wurde.
− Die gesamte Einrichtung im Haus ist eher alt und stark abgenutzt. Schubladen gehen nicht richtig zu, Betten sind durchgelegen, der Fernseher hat nur eine handvoll Programme, die störungsfrei funktionieren... eine Modernisierung wäre dringend notwendig. Das Zimmer war unglaublich heiß und man konnte nicht richtig lüften. Sonntags werden die Zimmer nicht gereinigt, das hab ich vorher noch nie erlebt. Die Terrasse war unglaublich ungepflegt und überhaupt nicht einladend. Kein Licht abends auf dem Weg dahin, die Haustür funktionierte auch nicht ganz richtig so dass wir einmal ausgesperrt waren... alles in allem hatte ich den Eindruck, dass das Swiss Cottage die besten Jahre hinter sich hat.
