Charming room a short walk to the centre of Motovun
9.0It was within walkable distance of all the main attractions and restaurants in Motovun, and the owner pays for parking. The room had aircon (which worked great during the heatwave!), the bathroom was small but had everything I needed. I didn’t use the kitchen amenities but it appeared to have every common cooking utensil/item/appliance needed to cook a decent meal. I arrived earlier than check-in time and while my room wasn’t ready yet, they were still able to accommodate an earlier-than-normal check-in time. I booked last-minute and all communication I had with the owner was clear and polite.
− Not necessarily negatives, but things to know before arriving: parking is at the bottom of a fairly steep hill, behind the cemetery. There are also stairs to access the property, so my advice is to pack a smaller bag that you can carry, as rolling large suitcases up the hill and stairs would be a workout. Check-in/out is at the restaurant across the road, and they will show you how to access the property. I only knew about this from someone else’s comment - I wish that had been clear in the communication from the property. Actual negatives: I found the wifi to be frustratingly slow, particularly at night, even after I reset the router. The first night I was there I think I was the only guest, and it struggled to load a YouTube video. This was both on the standard and 5G networks. The house has no soundproofing, so you can hear everyone’s movements within the guesthouse. This is just part of the “charm” of old houses, and fortunately for me, the other guests were considerate of when they were moving around the house. The door to the bathroom in my room didn’t fully close - there was an ~1-3cm gap along the doorframe, so privacy (and smells!) could be an issue.
We absolutely loved our stay in Motovun
9.0Such a gorgeous apartment. In a stunning little village, The apartments was old world but still clean, comfortable and modern bathroom. Air conditioner was good and quiet. Shared kitchen was fantastic with coffee pod machine. It’s free to walk around the wall before 9 or after 6/7 so that’s with doing. The view was incredible. Great little restaurants nearby.
− Tea and coffee making in the room would be great
