RESEARCH BEFORE BOOKING
6.0I recommend staying close to the main building. Walking to breakfast, lunch, and dinner wasn’t enjoyable to me. Golf cart rides were inconvenient. DO NOT RELY ON UBER FOR AIRPORT TRANSFERS. Hotel must be more transparent about the distance and cost of transportation to the airport. 1 hour 20 min to MOB. Hotel EXTRA FEES ADDS 20% to your daily room rate.
Amazing, special resort!
10.0Exceeded expectations! Service was warm, friendly, and professional! Valet was easy and efficient! Food and cocktails were amazing. We went to the bayside grill, 1847, and buckeys. There is so much to do and the grounds are just so beautiful! We couldn’t find the pickleball courts, ended up overshooting them and went to some local courts in Fairhope. We enjoyed couples massages, but my partner didn’t enjoy his as much as my own. He gave feedback, but she provided too much deep tissue in areas he didn’t feel were issues. There is so much history if you stop and smell the roses. The books in main lobby, and curated ‘news/history’ binders just off the main lobby were so interesting. All the little personalized touches make this place very special. Just so very well done! Spectacular views. There’s also wildlife everywhere! We will be back!
Sky High Pricing...not worth the visit.
2.0This is the most overpriced property I have ever visited. The food is below average and the cost of food and beverages is exorbitant. I am told the Management here cares nothing about the guests which is evident by the continually increases in pricing.
Outstanding
10.0In a world of cold, industrial aesthetics and influencer selfies, The Grand is a warm embrace. The resort has an updated, but old school vibe of 1950s lodge in an upscale and charming capacity. The staff are incredibly friendly, the food is excellent, the amenities are fantastic, the location is perfect, the grounds are beautiful, and the resort wildlife makes the stay even better. This is the perfect getaway.

Grand Hotel lives up to its name
8.0Nice hotel, great location, ideal for golfers and families alike. Service excellent with fab staff Nearest airports (Mobile or Pensacola) about an hour away so not the easiest place to get to if you are not local. Breakfast very good but for evening meals best to go to one of the restaurants in nearby Fairhope (Little Bird, Kingfisher, Gambinos, Tamaras to name a few) for a better choice. Bayside taxis will get you there and back The two golf courses are a great test of golf, well maintained and fast greens to test your nerve.
