Basic accommodations - check for ants
8.0I had a free night to use through my Marriott Bonvoy account so I decided to do a quick one night at this property. Centrally located, lots of stores and shopping around within a 5-10 minute drive. The hotel itself was clean and the selling point is that each room has a balcony or walk-out patio and courtyard access. Unfortunately, I stayed during the 100+ degree heatwaves so I didn't use the patio at all but nice to know it's there. The room itself was nice, the bed slept wonderfully, the A/C worked great. However, the fan does constantly stay on. I actually had to turn the unit off at one point because the setting on 67 makes it ice cold in there but if you up it to 70, it actually starts giving off heat. Even with the unit off, the room maintained a cool temp and was quite comfortable. There is an indoor pool that I did not take advantage of but it was packed. There was plenty of parking available. When I checked in, I asked the front desk if there were stairs accessible to the higher floors (as I do not take elevators) and she said no. I thought that was odd as I know most Courtyards do. She gave me a room on the 1st floor and lo and behold as I'm walking to my room, I find 3 different stairwells to the upper floors. Which came in handy because as I was searching for ice later that night, the ice machines are nowhere to be found on the ground floor even though there is a sign directing you in a random direction. After I went to ask the front desk, I had to go up to the 2nd floor. I found yet another stairwell without a problem. I can imagine the hotel could be a bit confusing on the upper floors as it seems each wing does not connect. So whereas on the first floor you can walk all the way around, you can't do that on the 2nd and 3rd floors. No biggie, just noting. The walls were not thin. I heard nothing while I was in my room. The shower pressure was terrible but it did get hot. The one downside I experienced was there were ants in my room. I noticed them on the desk in the room when I checked in. Promptly asked the front desk to clean again and left out for the day. Only to come back 3-4 hours later and find more. Since they were only in that area and appeared to be coming from the coffee maker (and it was one or two at a time), I don't know if they ever did go back in to do another cleaning sweep. I put my items on the ottoman and let it be. And then the next morning, I woke up with ants crawling on my empty seltzer can on the nightstand. All in all, a decent stay minus the ants. Since it was a free reward for me, I'm not going to base my review on value but if I paid for the room, I'd be a little less forgiving.
Typical for an older Courtyard
4.0Internet was almost non existent except for the lobby, being a Bonvoy member didn’t help, the upgrade connection didn’t work either. Left the hotel early and checked in next door at HGI, much better . Wrote to manager, no response.
Very clean, pleasant stay.

10.0− I did not like having to pay additional fee for parking. Ten dollars is not a lot of money, however I don’t understand why guests have to incur another charge.
