GEORGE

8.0

The hotel itself needs updating & the beds are a back killer. However, the employees go above & beyond to make the stay great. Special recognition to George for being kind and attentive & handling my luggage. He’s a keeper!

A Nice Stay plus George was always upbeat

8.0

I stayed here 4 nights while attending a conference at The Boca Hotel. The room was good size and very nice with a balcony. Bed was comfortable. It was a short about 10 min walk to my conference. Every morning I was greeted by a hotel associate - George. George was always upbeat and pleasant. Our conversation was a great way to start the day. My only negative was the flimsy plastic water cups. You can't be 5 star with those.

Unprofessional bartender/Excellent Hotel and Restaurant

2.0

First, I’d like to start off saying my room was great. My experience with the front desk was excellent and the woman that checked me my room when I arrived at 7 PM on July 1, 2026 was very professional, kind, intelligent, and did an outstanding job. I would hire this woman in a minute. My room was very nice, very clean. Every person I came in contact with at hotel was outstanding except for the bartender. I met the bartender because I was dining alone, and I sat at the bar. The food at Kasumi restaurant was outstanding, which makes this review especially disappointing to write. Also, Roger is an amazing chef here at this restaurant and the hostess was wonderful. Unfortunately, my experience at the bar was completely overshadowed by the bartender, Joaquin. I ordered a glass of wine with dinner, and the pour I received was noticeably smaller than the pours Joaquin gave to multiple women seated around me and to a friend of his that was there with his barking dog when I arrived. Throughout my meal, I watched him consistently serve others much fuller glasses while mine was significantly shorter. It was obvious enough that I asked him about it. Rather than acknowledge the difference, Joaquin claimed the other guests still had wine remaining in their glasses before he poured more. That simply wasn’t true. I had been watching the service, and their glasses were empty. The explanation felt dismissive and dishonest, leaving me with the impression that I was not being treated the same as other guests. As disappointing as that was, what made the experience truly unprofessional was Joaquin’s ongoing conversation about his compensation. He openly complained that the automatic 20% gratuity meant the restaurant “doesn’t pay him” and told guests that he made far more money when he worked as a stripper, which he referred to as being a “male dancer.” Whether that is true or not is irrelevant—those are not conversations customers should be hearing while they’re trying to enjoy dinner in a hotel restaurant. The kitchen deserves tremendous credit because the food was excellent. Unfortunately, the service at the bar fell far below that same standard. A bartender represents the restaurant just as much as the chef, and Joaquin’s inconsistent pours, dismissive response to a legitimate question, and unprofessional conduct turned what should have been a great dining experience into a very disappointing one. I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Guests should receive consistent service, equal treatment, and professional hospitality regardless of who they are or who the bartender happens to know. Based on my experience, Joaquin failed to meet those expectations.

Beautiful place on the water however I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IT certainly WAS NO A LUXURY HOTEL WITH NO SPA...........

4.0

Value aweful and it should not classify for a luxury hotel no spa, carpet dingy, the tall foreign guys at the restaurant was an aweful server and I didn't let him serve me again. I told the manager DIANA SHE DID NOTHING. HOWEVER KENDRA WAS AMAZING AND DOESN'T DISERVE THIS RATETING. Also, the maid Marie was amazing.
