A true authentic oasis awaits you

10.0

From the moment you step through the gates at Kasbah Ait Ben Moro, you are transported from the dry rugged landscape to tranquil oasis. There is a warm welcome from all the staff, who are genuinely happy to cater for your every need. The Bar lounge has a well stocked honesty fridge, although a Muslim country, you can help yourself to wine, beer, water etc, relaxing on a sun bed beside the inviting pool, perfect after a day visiting the many historic Kasbah ruins in the area. If you are lucky, the owner, Juan, who brought this Kasbah back to life some 20+ years ago, will give you the history, his love for the Kasbah and the local people is evident. The kasbahs decor is in keeping with the honesty of the Kasbah, rustic and very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. The Kasbah offers a delicious light breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice, copious amounts of coffee and Moroccan rghaif (pancakes) try with the local honey. If you want the real Morocco experience then book in here!

Authentic, restful, peaceful - best nights in Morocco

10.0

Extremely Genuine and pleasant experience - Authentic Kasbah renovated with traditional techniques. You are not in a Marriott, and you shouldn't be as you are in the desert away from the western world. Everything works perfectly, there is even AC although no need in March there. This place is so peaceful, I haven't rested and slept that well for a couple of nights, even in the fanciest 5-star hotels in the world. Tips: 1. Stay for dinner - food is excellent and simple - you are served what was planned and prepared in the kitchen today, so no headache and waiting time with menu. Want wine? 1 bottle option. After a long day traveling, that is what you need, believe me. 2.Get to know the owner Juan, it's easy as he is everywhere and you will get to have dinner with him and his friends in the living room - he will tell you the whole story about the Kasbah, how he started 23 years ago.

Don't miss this magical castle, meticulously restored near Ourzazate

10.0

This one-of-a-kind kasbah is not to be missed if your travels take you by Ourzazate. The kasbah has been restored to its original glory by the owner using the original, traditional materials of daube and wat, and is an amazing chance to experience life inside an architectural marvel. We spent a magical winter night in the room with an adjoining living room, and the staff kindly lit us a fire after dinner. This is a historical building, with narrow staircases to reach your room, and while I wouldn't write home about water pressure, water was plenty hot and the heating/ AC installed in our rooms worked great. Food was delicious and freshly prepared- many levels above the tragic tourist fare that plagues many foreign-oriented establishments in Morocco. My only regret is that we couldn't stay any longer- I would recommend this kasbah wholeheartedly, in both winter and summer, when you'll be more likely to take advantage of the gorgeous poo

Wonderful experience

10.0

We loved our stay at Ben Moro. We stayed here about 20 years earlier, and it still didn't disappoint. Such beautiful views, such an incredible atmosphere, a lovely swimming pool, arresting sights round every corner. We were wonderfully looked after. The Kasbah is beautifully and carefully restored. We would recommend this to anyone.

Breathtaking, Tranquil, Perfect

10.0

This kasbah is perfect. Perfectly, lovingly restored; perfectly calm; and the perfect place to spend a few days. We arrived dusty, tired, and needing some peace after too many nights in a row on the road, and we left restored, re-energized, and wishing we could stay for longer. Juan and his team have done a very impressive job restoring the kasbah using traditional methods. The steep, winding stone staircases lead you up through the towers of the kasbah, where you enter your room to find stone floors, traditional walls, and stunning woven ceilings. The views from the top are absolutely unforgettable, especially at sunrise and sunset. The garden surrounding the kasbah has been lovingly tended throughout the kasbah's closure for the pandemic, and the stunning pool is surrounded by lush greenery. The bar area is the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a book or a deck of cards, and the restaurant is incomparable. The food we ate here was some of the best we had on our trip, and the staff were wonderful about accommodating dietary restrictions and serving everything on time. The rooms were quiet, cool, and peaceful. The bedding is high-quality, and the mattresses are comfortable. The en-suite bathroom is spacious, and the shower had ample hot water (though we tried not to shower for too long, knowing that we were in an oasis in the desert!). Juan is an excellent host; very interesting, funny, and quick to resolve any problems. We enjoyed meeting him and spending time with him. We stayed in March 2022, and we were lucky to have the kasbah all to ourselves, being the first guests since the kasbah reopened. Everything was clean, beautiful, and ready to go. The pool was very chilly - but that didn't stop us from dipping our feet in, or the kids from swimming in the afternoons! Sitting next to the pool, looking out at the oasis with a cup of tea, was an absolutely lovely way to spend an afternoon. All in all, this was an absolutely magnificent experience, one that I will be recommending to anyone within earshot. We stayed for three nights, and we all could have stayed for at least three more. Many thanks to Juan; we had a lovely time, and we can't wait to come visit again!

Beautiful location, nice story and friendly staff

10.0

We highly recommend Kasbah Ait Ben Moro. We were happy to find a place outside Ouarzazate, which is busy and full of poor quality, overpriced hotels. Juan, the current owner and person responsible for restoring this wonderful building, clearly cares about the authenticity of this remote location. The towers overlook the oasis, framed by the distant Atlas Mountains. The garden at the rear is extremely well designed and relaxing. We stayed in two different rooms. One with a balcony opening to a central courtyard. The other was a tower suite with a fireplace. Both were excellent. The staff are incredibly friendly and Juan is happy to provide tips and advice for the next part of your holiday.
