4.0We booked the property as per description in expedia. You need to be a boy scout to find the place. No signs at all, not even on the locked gate where we had to wait for one hour that someone opens it. We were the only guest with absolutely nobody else in the house. There was no air-condition anywhere, no WLAN at all, no hair dryer, no toiletries etc etc. All things which were supposed to be there according to the site description on expedia. We complained about the missing a/c and the rep brought us a mobile a/c and we had to choose not to sleep because of the terrible noise this machine made or not to sleep because of the heat in the room. We intended to stay two nights but had to leave after the first
Perfect escape to an historic country villa
10.0Our stay was atypical in that we were sStill off season and the only ones there. Still the owner was attentive to our wishes snd very accommodating, even allowing us to stay in the garden way past check out time. The villa is gracious and i think dates from the early renaissance. The surrounding olive groves and vineyards are beautiful and the old trees in the garden very appealing. We had a lovely stay in a gorgeous, peaceful and unique place and the ceramics museum in montelupo was superb.
