Outstanding Service When I Needed It Most

I had an excellent stay at Hyatt Regency Dushanbe. A special thank you to Timur Chebanov, Director of Sales and Marketing, who truly made the impossible possible. Despite the hotel being fully packed because of an event and my booking request coming at very short notice, he somehow managed to find me a room. I sincerely appreciated his kindness, professionalism and willingness to help. The whole experience was outstanding. From the reception team to the restaurant staff and housekeeping, everyone was welcoming, attentive and genuinely professional. The service was smooth, the atmosphere was pleasant and every detail made the stay comfortable. Hyatt Regency Dushanbe is a hotel where you really feel taken care of. I am very grateful to the entire team and would happily stay there again.

Only a 4 star stay due to the foibles of the poor room design. Our stay here was a late hotel change for our Adventures Abroad tour group. Two nights from 01 May in room #712. We were meant to be staying at the Hilton. Our group check-in was well managed. All very clean and modern. Large, efficient lifts x3. Should be a 5 star venue BUT with too many annoying room design features. The impractical people who design such rooms should have to live in one of their creations for a month, to truly appreciate their foibles. The king sized bed has a protruding, sharp edged timber base which made contact with my shins too frequently. The large swinging room lamp then also kept making contact with my head. The shared bath / shower space is set up in Japanese mode. Who designed the impractical placement of the body wash, etc dispensers here? Why supply a bath that does not have edges where you can place soap? No anti-slip bath mat was supplied. For a hotel set up for international travelers to only supply one suitcase stand (but this was hidden away in a cupboard) is yet another frustration. The air con thermostat knob can be adjusted BUT the temp was continually 22-23 C. In room wifi was very slow; but more usable down in the foyer. Our room safe while secured, could not be locked. I left a note for the hotel maid to attend to this after our 1st night; but it was not actually then fixed. No choice of pillows either. The ones supplied were too soft but matched the USA style, too soft mattress. As almost always, not enough wall, door hooks or places to fully hang damp towels, hats, coats. As the glass panels in the bathroom go to the ceiling, this poor design stops any attempt to hang up damp linen there. Some of the towels were large and soft; some thin and scratchy. The facial tissues and body moisturizer lotion were appreciated. There was an eutectic small fridge in the room + a kettle, etc. Breakfast was very good.

− The staff were rude, chasing us saying we did not pay for breakfast and embarrassing us in front of everyone at the restaurant when we confirmed TWICE we paid for breakfast, it was part of our booking, they made us send them a confirmation email because they did not believe us TWICE. Happened on the day of the check in and on the next day. Outrageous staff behaviour, so so disappointing! Not even apologising for such discomfort. The food wasn’t good at all, did not taste good. The fridge in our room was stinking horribly and nobody managed to solve that issue. Can’t open windows , so it gets too cold with the air conditioning, and without the air conditioning the air was really stuffy. Way overpriced hotel, not worth the money one bit. And the staff did not do anything to compensate for such discomfort!
