Beautiful hotel

The property is so charming and unique, I loved my room. The staff were kind and accommodating, there were lovely little touches such as a welcome note left on my arrival, and a complimentary tea left for me when I had been out all afternoon. The location is excellent, but be warned there is a fair amount of noise when windows are open, because it is the tourist hot-spot, but that's part of the charm for me as well! In this location you have markets and bars and restaurants on your doorstep. When the windows are closed the noise is negligible. There isnt air conditioning but this isnt a problem in such a mild environment.

− Depsite the temperature being okay, the bedding was a bit too warm, I couldn't sleep under the covers because the mattress protection they used was some sort of plastic type material, I was cooking! :D I only stayed one night so didnt have a chance to ask for an alternative, so if you do notice this and get warm, I would just recommend asking the staff.

Classic comfort in the heart of the old town

This hotel is a feature of the Kunming Old Town, built 90 years ago and a wonderful design. The rooms are generously sized and if you are lucky enough to have a room that overlooks the street you will very much a part of the scene. It is a 7 minute walk to the Theatre for the dance and singing performances of Dynamic Yunnan. You must try the thin pancakes on a stick right next door. Fabulous! The staff were fabulous and helpful.

Classic style and location with service to boot.

The location in the old town was superb. The property is a classic architectural masterpiece of 90 years of age. The room and facilities were great, clean and comfortable. I was on the top floor at the point end of the building overlooking the cobblestoned street. Close to the Kunming Arts Theatre, a 7 minute walk to enjoy Dynamic Yunan dance and music performance. The young male staff member was incredible, receiving me at 3AM with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble.

− On weekends the noise from the street can get a little loud but it didn’t worry me. It was all part of the experience.

The Hotel Manager was super. She was so helpful, organising a taxi to pick us up from the airport and booking our train tickets to Shangri La. She made recommendations for eating in the evening, told us where to find everything we were looking for and generally made our trip to Kunming very enjoyable.

Great room, great location, staff helpful and friendly. Coffee bags and kettle in room with plenty of bottled water. (we stayed in one of the big end rooms it was well worth it)

Beautiful place, rooms are large and very comfortable. You could spend all day just in the room! Great location but a tip show your room key to the taxi drivers so you can get back from the park. The Hotel will also organise all of your trips which can be easier than doing it yourself now that you have to book times every day.
