Really pretty room, view of the water, comfortable bed, nice water pressure, linens. Soundproofed and quiet.

− No front desk or any staff on location, did not know this in advance. No clear sign where to go, so I walked around the building 3/4 in the cold, before finally seeing the sign for the rooms upstairs. No internet the first night. I came off-season to work in the quiet and get a lot done. TV was also dependent on wifi so could not watch tv, respond to email, etc. Good thing I remembered to bring a book. I reached out to owner via phone number listed on welcome card in room, no return call. Guys next door had same internet issue. Owner told me later that he did not have my email address from Booking.com which is weird-why would they not share it with the actual inn? They said they did not receive my texts alerting them to email issues because I was texting the wrong number. However, if they had a property manager at the location or ANYONE TO RESPOND TO PROBLEMS, I would not be this annoyed. I had planned to get 3-4 hours worth of work done before I went whale watching the next day, but I went over to San Juan Island on the earliest ferry to use WIFI on that island because KingFish did not have anyone to respond to the internet issue in the moment. Very very frustrating to pay a lot of money for an amenity that I could not use. I specifically chose Orcas Island because it was quiet, not very many restaurants or activity since I needed to finish a chapter in a book I was writing. It was stressful having to figure out where I could access internet in Friday Harbor, etc. when that should not have been necessary.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in Suite 4. Beautifully updated, historic building/inn with a restaurant that'serves amazing farm to table food!! Would stay again and again!!

Bummer of a honeymoon

What a bummer of a honeymoon. I called Kingfish Inn back in July to confirm that the restaurant would be open in October, prior to booking. The representative that I spoke with confirmed that the restaurant would be open during our stay. The restaurant is located directly underneath the rooms. My husband and I wanted to recreate our first vacation that we had at Kingfish Inn back in 2021. When we arrived our room was locked and had someone else’s name on our door, even though the instructions stated it would be unlocked. I had to go downstairs to the restaurant and find someone who could help. The restaurant was playing very loud music a lot of the weekend since they were cleaning the restaurant since it had closed down for the season a week prior. Our hotel room lacked an extra blanket, and I had to message the hotel staff for one. I called and left a voicemail for the Inn when I found out that the restaurant would be closed during our stay and explained how bummed we were since this was our honeymoon. The Inn did not even call me back but texted me back a few days later. I hoped the Inn would offer a refund or at least a discount, but they did not. This Inn used to be wonderful, but now I’m sad to say the quality and service has gone down hill.
