9.0Very warm welcome. The room had beautiful decor. The fridge on the landing was a novel idea and housed fresh milk in the room's own little bottle. Good choice of tea and coffee in the room with a teapot, not something usually provided. Sherry was also provided in the room. The cake/scone offered on our arrival was also a lovely thought. Everything was very clean. The en-suite was excellent with a lovely big shower and white fluffy towels. The property was situated very centrally in Pickering with everything within walking distance, although you need to be a bit of a mountain goat to get up the hill to the property. (Walking would not be an option for the unfit). The car park for the property was easily reached by car and led to the entry at the back of the property. The garden was beautiful.
− The climb to the property was hard. The bed was a little soft and bouncy and could have been a bit wider for a deluxe room.

10.0What a magnificent place to stay! Central not only to Pickering, but to all of North Yorkshire. Ashley was an incredibly gracious host, and made our stay all that much more enjoyable.
