We were very excited to be in the Sleepy Hollow area for the Halloween activities and thought that by staying at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel that it would be grandly decorated for the season. The lobby had a few hanging paper bats and a couple of styrofoam pumpkins. Room was not ready so we rested on the lobby couches along with other guests that were also waiting. Room was a bit warm and we thought our thermostat was broken but not the case. FYI - the hotel was built in 1961 so apparently no central A/C. They did eventually provide us with an oscillating fan. The bathrooms show wear and need updating. ***NOTE: Many reviews on this site make note of lacking A/C or not functioning.

I stayed here April 21 - 23 and had a lovely experience! The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful! My room was a little warm and after asking for assistance from the front desk, I learned from maintenance that the hotel only has AC during the summer months. They turned off the heat for me and very quickly supplied a large (but quiet) tabletop fan! The room was very quiet and clean, the mattress was comfortable, and the shower had hot water and amazing pressure! I asked for more shampoo/conditioner and towels, and the kindest woman came to my room to drop them off. The hotel overall had a pleasant smell (like lily of the valley and bergamot?), similar to a signature scent luxury hotels have (I am sensitive to strong parfumes and scents as they trigger migraines for me, and this did not). The fitness center was well maintained, super clean, and had a good variety of equipment. The location was great: outside of the heart of Tarrytown, but an easy 8 minute drive to great restaurants! I stayed here because the hotel was hosting a company event; the event space at the hotel was clean and spacious, and the staff was attentive, kind, and brought delicious fruit and pastries! TLDR: I would absolutely stay here again and am planning on coming here in the fall sometime with my fiancé. The staff were all super nice and very attentive. It was clean, quiet, and overall a pleasant stay.

This place is an absolute scam!!!! It’s advertising and charging rates that would be expected at a Ritz Carlton when it’s a Motel 6. The lobby is the grand scheme to lure and make you justify paying a 4/5 star price for a masked murder mystery hotel space. When walking into the room we were given, we were met with a moist interior due to the AC being shut off and heat scorching. The rooms are completely outdated with stained walls, rugs, sheets, bathroom appliances… I mean the list is on going! When first approached with the complaints the best accommodations offered were an upgraded room and kindly declined. The highlight of the whole 2 hour stay was Gregory at the front desk who refunded and accommodated the multiple disappointments we experienced.

Horrible, for a wedding, hotel was in renovation and filthy, they did not tell us, debris everywhere, puke on the walkway outside, AC did not work in the rooms and they sent a dehumidifier instead. Avoid at all costs

We had an amazing stay!

The food was delicious. Both breakfast and dinner. The attention to details and the room cleanliness was impressive.
