Luxury in downtown Denver
10.0Although an older property, the Ritz Carlton continues to live up to its name with clean, comfortable rooms and excellent service. The hotel is conveniently located for walking to the 16th Street Mall, Coors Field, and downtown Denver. Throughout our stay, everyone provided Ritz-level service, from reception, to the valet team (who were always quick with our car), to the restaurant staff. The team always greeted us by name and proactively anticipated our needs, like giving water bottles when we returned from being out walking. We had a two queen room, which was spacious and had a sitting lounge in addition to the beds. The spotless bathroom has both a large tub and walk-in shower. For dining, Elways offers a great meal. The prime rib sandwich and filet were both loved at our table. Thanks to the staff who gave us a desert on the house to round out a wonderful meal. Although there have been many new hotels opened in Denver and LoDo in the recent years, the Ritz Carlton continues to hold its own. I will happily return again.
Terrible
2.0Hates kids old dirty run down hotel staff is beyond rude would go to Gaylord instead
Ladies and Gentleman...this one is a Miss.
4.0The Ritz lives and dies on service and unexpected (but....let's be honest 'expected') touches. The Denver presentation is a miss. Nice room? Yes. But...is anyone staying at a Ritz and thinking...clean bed? That's a win! If you are looking for a place to sleep you absolutely will be satisfied by the Denver Ritz. If you're looking for a bit "more" I don't know...you better temper those expectations. The hotel is fine, the hotel is clean...but it is 100% not what you are expecting, especially in comparison to the Bacara or heck even the LA version (another good....but who is looking for "good" when staying at such a superlative name). The biggest complaint...you really do not have an on-property dining option. This is a tower fronting as a luxury hotel. It's fine, but man....if this was your single experience of a Ritz you certainly would not be coming back. Denver, you could probably do without a Ritz rather than having a bottom of the barrel expression of the name.
Very convenient and staff were very friendly and helpful.
10.0ALWAYS was great for lunch/brunch and breakfast.....delicious food and not crowded at all. I chose the hotel because it was walking distance from the event that I was attending.
− Only the carpet in the room seemed like it needs replacing, other than that the room was excellent.
Not a 5 Star Ritz Carlton
6.0We have stayed at numerous Ritz-Carlton properties across California, New York, Hawaii, and Japan, and this was our first stay in Denver. Unfortunately, it was, without question, the most disappointing experience we have had with the brand. The most significant issue was the clear misrepresentation of the guest rooms on your website. The rooms are described and depicted as featuring a modern design in royal blue and shades of gray. In reality, our room was entirely different—outdated, and decorated in beige and brown tones, with none of the finishes or aesthetic shown online. This was not a minor variation; it was a completely different product. When I raised this issue with the Front Desk, I was informed that the website images reflect potential future renovations that have not yet been approved, and that only three rooms currently resemble those images. Advertising rooms that do not exist for the vast majority of guests—and may not exist at all pending approval—is misleading and unacceptable. This created a clear bait-and-switch situation and set expectations that the property does not currently meet. The condition and presentation of the room were far below what we expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand and more closely aligned with a standard four-star hotel. Additionally, the Front Desk experience during check-in and the following day was underwhelming and lacked the level of service and attentiveness typically associated with Ritz-Carlton. While the team was far more helpful and friendly on our final day—particularly in accommodating a late checkout due to my husband experiencing high altitude sickness—the inconsistency in service was disappointing. I would like to note that the valet and front door staff were consistently warm and welcoming. Overall, this experience did not reflect the standards, transparency, or service excellence that define the Ritz Carlton brand. I emailed the GM with this review and received a neutral cut and paste response from the assistant, not addressing the issues.
A beautiful night at the Ritz
10.0The building was beautiful and the room was amazing. They even gave me a free upgrade for my anniversary, which made the stay extra special. The fitness center and spa were wonderful as well. As nice as all of that was, the staff truly stood out—they were even greater and made the entire experience unforgettable.
