Beautiful hotel, bad air con.
7.0It’s beautiful, very ornate, lovely glasses in room and tea and coffee facilities lovely.
− The air con leaves a lot to be desired. It is essentially a vent on the windowsill which blows upwards. So if you close the curtains it doesn’t blow into the room. So we couldn’t use the blackout facilities and the room was still 23 degrees even with air con on at full blast. The room was really uncomfortable and when I mentioned to the front desk the next day the just shrugged. I’ve read other reviews since and it seems to be a recurring issue. We were there on a warm summer day but it’s still no excuse in a hotel like this. The air con really needs updating. We went to the lounge for a cocktail before our dinner reservation and we sat for ages before anyone came near us despite being seated by the front of house lady. It wasn’t busy and there were about five staff standing chatting around a cutlery station. I had to go up and ask to be served but they served us very quickly then. Otherwise staff were incredibly polite and helpful.
