Great place better than a grander hotel
10.0A wonderful hotel with a beautiful view
My Island Oasis
10.0My ISLAND OASIS every October. This resort is the best of the best. Superb staff in all departments, immaculate accommodations and public areas in and outdoors, well maintained, warm and friendly. Great walk from the ferry docks. Dining and menu options are plentiful, well prepared, served by friendly and conscientious servers and you will look forward to your next dining experience. Relax in the large, comfortable lobby with ample seating around multiple fireplaces. A great experience and one you will remember forever.
Junior Suite was outdated and overpriced
8.0The pluses first: beautiful peaceful location on the island. Convenient bike rental. Excellent food with generous portions. Cons: We had the Fall experience package. Front desk staff (multiple persons) were not able to clearly give us the day-to-day plan specifics which resulted in a costly overage on the meal allowance. Please note that there was no Concierge working on either of the first two days of our stay. The room was a long and confusing walk down multiple hallways and up three different sets of stairs. Then, the bathroom was totally cramped and outdated. No room safe, a brass room key, window air conditioners (with bug droppings all around window inserts), sinks in room not in bathroom, and a hollow flimsy door to the room that looked like thin plywood. Lastly, other than the staff at the bike rental kiosk, the staff seemed bored and ready to leave for the season. Individual guests in parties of two get no attention, this resort caters to onsite weddings, business conferences, or large family reunions.
If you're looking for a Grand experience...You can't do better than Mission Point Resort.
10.0Pampered, Spoiled, Utterly Valued...That's how we felt as guests at Mission Point Resort. We booked one of their smallest rooms (a Main Lodge Queen) with the Bed-And-Breakfast Package--and had a larger-than-life, truly wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in until we hopped the Ferry back to Mackinaw City, we were treated like royalty. Every Mission Point Host we encountered, from the cheerful folks who welcomed us with a room key and a smile, to the kind lady who cleaned our room, to the amazing people who served us in The Round Island Kitchen (and everyone in between) was professional, attentive and cordial. The room was spotless, the facilities were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the stay was restful. It was a short walk from our comfortable hotel room to Arch Rock, and the Concierge even helped us book a private carriage tour. We come to the Island each year, but this was the first time we stayed at Mission Point Resort. It was also the best experience we've ever had, and we cannot wait to go back next year. If you're on the fence about where to stay, just book a room here. You'll be glad you did!
Worth it For the Cost
10.0This was one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at. The staff are all very friendly. We enjoyed the amenities, such as heated pool, putt putt and kids under 12 eat free. There are multiple seating options in the hotel lobby with puzzles and books. This creates a cozy welcoming environment. My kids were excited to work on a puzzle and there were other families that would work would on the puzzle at other times.
Guest review
4.0The water view wasn't that great, the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, the heater made a really loud noise, found 3 bugs in the room, tv was very small and was mounted crooked on the wall...etc. For the money we paid, it was not worth it at all unfortunately.
