Horrific- worst place I’ve ever stayed

− It was very tired and in need of refurbishment. It was in a small village in Derbyshire but I was kept awake for most of the night with the non-stop thundering of enormous lorries which I found out is a very popular route to Manchester! It was so loud that I couldn’t hear the TV so gave up on that and turned it off. There was no double glazing so shutting the window on a hot night was no help. The room itself was dark and dingy with cracks in the plaster and cobwebs in dark corners. I don’t usually leave reviews but people need to know not to stay here. All that for £125 a night (about £35 more as I was a single occupant!).

8.0Big room. Comfy bed. Bathroom with a bath. Staff really helpful. Breakfast ok. Baslow is a great location for exploring the Peaks.
− It is on a busy road so lots of traffic noise. Our room looked onto the car park.

9.0The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly.
− It was rather loud as the rooms are over a busy street that was in use most of the night. Light sleepers might struggle!
