Disappointing experience

Unfortunately, not much.

− We spent six nights at this accommodation and were pretty disappointed. The website promised this apartment to be a (quote) “gem”, a “beautiful, renovated and refurbished apartment on the beach”, where the “owners have replaced everything when they refurnished!" Prior to our arrival, we had been notified of some plumbing works, with no cold water for a couple of hours. What we encountered was a bit of a battlefield. Parts of our entrance was cordoned off, the entrance was all muddy and dirty and a ladder was stationed right in front of the kitchen window. The apartment itself was quite dark, threadbare and the more we discovered, the less satisfied we became. The sofa in the living room was worn-out, the surface of the wooden table soggy. Some lights were either flickering or not working – just as the light in the fridge was burnt out. The TV in the master bedroom could not be turned on – and there was only one reading light there. The door to the second bathroom was crooked, it could hardly be opened, there, the soap holder was missing, its former place rusty. In the kitchen, the frying pan was full of grease, while many of the cutlery had food stains on them. A knob was missing from below a shelf in my bedroom, making it unstable. There was no safe in the apartment. The plumbing works continued for three days (of the six), with drilling and hammering. The amenities provided were bit of a disappointment as well. We got a so-called “starter set” of a roll of toilet paper, a tiny bottle of shampoo – and were advised to go see the store for everything else. . For the six nights we stayed at the island, we had a large and a small towel provided and a beach towel. There would be no housekeeping whatsoever during our stay, , no change of linen. There was reference to an “apartment info folder” - there was none. We got an email whether we wanted information about the island, I said yes, it never arrived. Disappointing experience.

Very nice, but the construction noise really let it down.

The room itself was amazing. The location was 11/10. It was clean, practical and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

− I would’ve given everything a 10/10 if it weren’t for the relentless construction noise from the apartment above. Drilling and banging all day, every day. I wish we’d had some notice that this would be the case as we would’ve looked elsewhere. With young kids, we spend a fair bit of time in the room during the day for naps and rest. This wasn’t relaxing as there was constantly very loud noise from the room above. For the price we paid, this was extremely disappointing.

Very disappointing for what are supposed to be luxury apartments.

Location.

− We had many issues during our stay. The dishwasher didn’t work for the entire stay, the coffee machine was not working, and one of the air conditioners stopped working on the first night, and the other air conditioner was leaking. The golf cart also had to be repaired because it wouldn’t respond properly when going uphill. This is very disappointing, as these are basic amenities that should have been working properly.

Way over priced for a tired apartment which needs a lot of love and attention to bring it to standard

On the plus side , the location was excellent, close to the beach, the size of the apartment and terrace was spacious and comfortable for 4 people, the beds were firm and comfortabl

− The apartment apparently had not been used for a number of weeks and as a result was musty and had not been aired. The terrace had not been cleaned and i had to sweep it up The terrace furniture was dirty with bird poo on the lounger cushions. The Hoover did not work Beach towels were threadbare and had holes in them. The BBQ was filthy and clearly was not fit to use without a thorough clean. The cutlery ,dishes, plates, glasses and pots were not sufficient in numbers for 4 people. The quality was also very poor. The oven did not work properly and we ruined a meal in it. The smoke/fire alarm needs attention to make it work ! The ironing board cover was threadbare and had holes in it. Due to its location at the end of the building the wind seems to gather loose rubbish , leaves and detritus at the front door.

A nice stay but accommodation needs a refresh. Especially for the prices you pay.

Good location and room sizes are great.

− The whole apartment needs an audit to review it’s appliances and household items. Frying pans were so burnt and used and had to he replaced, clothes airer was covered in rust, mis-match of kitchen items with bowls and plates etc, some looking very worn and scratched. It’s definitely not luxury and for the price you pay that nearly equates to the highend hotel that just opened up. I have to say the concierge team were great, and corrected every issue with frying pans and the airer etc so that we could use them, I just think this should all be checked as standard propr to checking in. Not all kitchen items were thoroughly cleaned either. This property has the bins behind it and so we did find this quite noisy with bin collections and people disposing of rubbish at night. Especially with a toddler sleeping. We couldn’t go outside on the terrace much as it was very wet with all the rain but noticed a lot of insect nests on the panels that should be removed or treated for guest comfort if they wanted to use the space better.
