Perfect Spring Break
8.0Generally a very positive experience. Lack of seating in room was a bugbear plus the fact that there was only one outdoor lounger when the room is clearly meant for two people. Very nice and friendly service, good food and wine if a little on the expensive side. Despite the above, would definitely stay again.
Lovely short break away
10.0We will not stay anywhere else but the Crown we cannot find one fault at all. Rob the staff the food and the rooms are all excellent and we are made to feel so welcome. Thanks for another wonderful stay Team Crown x Carole , Stuart & Cooper
Great food and sleep 😁
10.0Had a lovely night great food great room staff where brilliant .see u soon that for sure 😊 definitely one of our favourite places to come and relax
Highly recommended 11/10
10.0Stayed at Foxglove lodge for 3 nights and dined at the crown. We were blown away by the quality of food and comfort and peach of the lodge. Such a remote and beautiful countryside with many places to walk. Manager was really helpful, gave us a map and everything. We will definitely be back 100% - my only wish… was that I want to live there now 🤣
A delightful lunchtime experience.
10.0I cannot stress how helpful and considerate our waitress and the chef were in accommodating my food intolerances. I was made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The service and food was excellent and the apple tarte tatin was amazing! And our dogs were welcomed too!
Overpriced, disappointing
6.0Disappointing. This used to be my favourite place to eat but I doubt I will be going again. I ordered a burger which was tasty but arrived with what I would describe as frozen mass produced straight cut chips, no garnish whatsoever. My burger looked somewhat lost on the plate I can only describe it as a minimalist meal. My dark chocolate gateau promised to be a delight but again although tasty was no bigger than a Kipling sponge pudding and was a whopping £11. The ambiance has changed, it was loud due to groups of drinkers a far cry my the sophisticated environment for a family meal it once was. Not worth the money whatsoever.
Take in the views from a terrace and a garden and make use of amenities such as complimentary wireless internet access. This hotel also features a banquet hall and bike parking.
