The Worst Hampton Inn at a Big Price

We booked the Signature 2-room suite so that we'd have room for family to visit with us. The pictures look great. And the location next to up-scale Landfall made me assume this would be a top-notch accommodation. Not so at all. First was the person who checked me in, who wanted to be anywhere but there, and the three times I encountered him that afternoon he never smiled. Then the carpet in the hall on the 4th floor was just downright dirty and worn out. The the off white furniture in the room was very heavily stained. But before we got in the room there was lint dirt stuff on the carpet right at our door. In the room there was stuff under the edge of the sofa and a small rubberband like those eorn by ppl who wear braces - and we dont - so def the floor had not been properly vacuumed. In my parents room a couple doors down there were dead bugs and overall dirty. On checkout, when I spoke to the manager, she more or less said their budget won't allow them to fix things, and said there was no way my parents room was dirty. We travel a lot and stay in Hampton Inn's often, and this was the worst. And to think we spent $1300 for 2 nights and my parents spent $800 for 2 nights. Yes, I know it's the beach in summer, and we wouldn't have minded if we had received what should have been.

Although it was a great location, guests service very friendly, the room was kind of small, featuring double beds(not queen) . The beds are kind of squeaky and the carpet could use some cleaning. I will look into a resort at Myrtle beach to get more bang for my buck.

Bed Bugs

I stayed here briefly a week ago, before leaving after I saw a bedbug on the bed. The front desk attendant and manager were both understandably alarmed and offered me another room or a full refund, but I wasn't coming back. Hopefully they finally fix this issue, but it's something worth knowing before you book.

Cute outside but overpriced for what you get

The outside of the hotel is cute. It's located in a wooded office park. It has a pool area that seems great although we didn't have a chance to use it. Beds were comfortable

− Staff doesn't smile, rooms are small, bathrooms are outdated, elevators smelled bad and were heated even though it was almost 100 degrees outside. Doors to the lobby don't open automatically so that might be difficult for some, especially with luggage
