Place was shut down-no one told us
1.0− Place was boarded up and we weren’t notified Take post down
Bad
1.0− The reservation was canceled. I didn't receive any communication about the cancelation until I called when I showed up and the place was not open. When I called, i asked about my refund, and they said it was refunded. It was not. I keep checking to see if I have received my refund.
Stay away! Horror movie feels. Rip off.
1.0The bed was surprisingly comfortable. The towels were surprisingly nice. Views of the mts were stunning.
− This is a place of horror movies..... When we arrived, we thought we were in the wrong place as it appeared to be an abandoned, rundown building. Sign at the door says enter at the back, but the back verandah has ?fallen down and was missing, (just a mess of timber and stuff lying everywhere) so, no access to a door there at all. Instructions were to ph on arrival. No response... (2 days later, still no response) The building was empty of ppl. An abandoned hotel that has fallen into dreadful disrepair with a rabbit warren of rooms and bathrooms. We found master keys on a couch in the 1 cabin. (that actually looked nice but had no bathroom anywhere near it, youd have to walk back to the decrepit main building, i guess, to use the bathroom?🤷♀️) The main building smelt *bad* - stale beer & cigarettes and very musty. We walked thru the building looking for rooms that smelt the least. We had no clue where we were supposed to stay. No windows would open. All the openers were broken. The bar & dining area were in a bad state with rotten food on a table as you walk in, and just random stuff left everywhere. Our toilet was stained pink from toilet cleaner that had been, presumably, squirted in there some time ago and just left, and not flushed away... The shower looked like they'd made an effort to clean it, but didn't rinse it and there was a drain line down the middle of dried dirt and debris that wasn't washed down the drain hole. The rooms are cluttered with bulky furniture leaving not much floor space. Peeling paint and weeds everywhere, even growing at the room doorstep, and long enough that they folded under the door and into the room when you shut the door. Thin curtains that blocked no light. Strange wooden shelves beside the bed that we had to pad with pillows because we hit them while rolling in bed. No wifi. It's a deserted, creepy, smelly place that's right next to an industrial looking train depot.
We could not stay. SHUT DOWN.
1.0There was no breakfast and no rooms...they were shut down for over a year. We were charged $472.16 cdn upon booking. Had to find alternate accommodations. Elson Storsley.
− When we arrived at the property, we found that it had been shut down for more than a year. How could you offer this as a place to stay when it is shut down. We were in the middle of nowhere in Alaska, so we had to scramble to find alternate accommodations at 4:00 in the afternoon. Not easy. Very disappointed in Booking.com.
Great for independent travellers
8.0We prefer to be away from crowds and self-sufficient and this place was great for that. It's right next 2 a train track - but there was only 1 train that came through whilst we were there. The area is out of the main town and is very quiet and so was perfect for us. The restaurant in the hotel is closed and the building looks rundown from the outside, but the room we had was perfect. Very clean, the beds were very comfortable, the bathroom looked newly renovated. There was a fridge and microwave that we used to make dinner. Great for independent travelers. 30 minutes easy drive from Denali National Park through gorgeous scenery - you can see Denali from just south of Cantwell
− The outside of the building looks really run down and we weren't quite sure where the reception was. The room itself was much nicer than the outside
strongly not recommended
1.0nothing
− location: this lodge is 50 yrd from an active train rail, like a hurricane (couple times each night) passing by when sleep at night; and on muddy vacant land when it rains; no faucet in the lodge; have to walk 100 yrd to the access public restroom, shower, even in the middle of dark night.
