Lovely hotel but not a nice city
8.0This hotel is lovely, really clean and beautiful rooms plus close the the train station (less than 10 minute walk) but I have no idea why anyone would visit Brussels. It’s really not a nice city & there was rubbish scattered outside/everywhere (not hotels fault). If you need a pit stop it’s ideal but visit Ghent or Bruges is my advice.
Good value, location fine
8.0Having booked this hotel because of its proximity to the Eurostar station we became concerned when we read reviews saying the area was not safe. I'm 67 and my wife is 60. We've lived in London and Manchester most of our lives, and the idea that the area is some sort of urban jungle is simply laughable. Sure it's a big city in an area with a large immigrant community, but nothing unexpected. The room was clean, well presented and more space than normal in this price range. Staff helpful and friendly. What's not to like?
Good value boutique hotel
10.0We had a pleasant stay Urban Garden Hotel, with such a nice atmosphere, friendly staff and tasty breakfast. We stayed in very comfortable and quiet Gardener double room. Special thanks for your smiles and organizing a perfect birthday surprise with cake and flowers to Jean Marie, Abdel, Cristina and all your colleagues - you made for us an unforgetable experience!
Great little place.
10.0Great hotel. Short walk from the station and the city centre. Comfortable beds, hot shower. Coffee machine in room. Don't be put off by all the negative comments about the area,it's no better or worse than any other large city. Just follow the usual common sense precautions and you will be fine. Brussels is a very interesting city.
Lovely stay
10.0We have booked a quadruple room and it was big and comfortable! cleanliness was spot on. The hotel itself was small and cute, we liked the interior and it was not that far from the station, very convenient! However, i wish they have provided some slippers and had at least 1 international ports in the room, but overall stay, was fantastic!
Awful location and unsafe
2.0We visited Brussels for my mums 60th Birthday. It was supposed to be a special trip. We arrived at hotel on first glance wow lovely hotel but surrounding area awful. Drug users laying all over the floor and lingering around. Ear plugs are given as you will hear police sirens at all times. First day we checked in we thought we would make the best of it and get the tram to grand place which is a lovely area we stayed there until about half 7ish in the evening and decided to go back to the hotel to have a chill and make a plan for evening only to find when we returned drug users in hotel doorway needles all over the floor outside and groups of drug users shouting at us and lingering around. Therefore we are did not feel safe to go exploring. We then opted to see if we just could have a drink in the hotel bar (reception) Well , no other drink than beer and a soft drink available. There was bottles of spirits but these were display only. We were then trapped in the hotel with no facilities to use and £600 down for the hotel cost for two nights. We made the decision to leave the hotel and find somewhere safer to stay. On checking out the same day we checked in as I was explaining what happend… someone off the street visably on drugs and alcohol stumbled into the foyer of the hotel and the security guard just watched as they entered the lift. They did not check who they were or what they were doing there. On returning home communication was poor. Do not stay here unless you want to be shouted at and unsafe in your room. I never listen to bad reviews and on booking.com there are several about feeling unsafe and random people walking into their hotel rooms and in this occasion I would advise people to listen to those bad reviews. Did not get a refund and hotel was dismissive on returning home.
