10.0We stayed one night after we landed in San Jose. This is a traditional hotel, comfortable, central and with very friendly and helpful reception staff.

6.0Be prepared to drive in circles to find the hotel. Once you do, it’s hard to find a safe place to park. The hotel recommends a place and it cost you 14$ to park. Breakfast was terrible. There was no food other than some watermelon. Coffee was scarce and you’re lucky if you get a cup. Oh watched the cooks sit there eating while the guests sat there with nothing.

6.0Nice house turned into a hotel, about a 10-minute walk to the center. My room was spacious with a decent bathroom and a small garden, but no chair, which was a bit inconvenient. It was right next to the stairs, so I could hear people and noise from the next room. Train noise was noticeable but didn’t bother me much. Staff speak mostly Spanish, so communication was a bit tricky. Breakfast wasn't ready on time, and they don’t offer anything if you leave early for a tour. At checkout, no one was at reception, I had to find someone to help me. Overall, it’s a charming place, but a few service issues to be aware of.
