The room was excellent, clean and beautiful view! Restaurants were very good!

Decent Stay in Waikiki

We recently stayed at the Waikiki Marriott and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was clean, well-maintained, and the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. One of the biggest advantages of this property is its location. The beach is directly across the street, making it easy to enjoy the ocean, and there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions within walking distance. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was pleased that my status was recognized and honored. The hotel also provided a continental breakfast benefit, which was appreciated. While the breakfast was convenient, it was probably the one area that could use some improvement, as the selection and quality were fairly basic. What truly stood out was the staff. Devin in Concierge Services was incredibly helpful and offered excellent recommendations that enhanced our visit. Janeen at the front desk was warm, professional, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. I'd also like to thank Christine and Daisy in the breakfast area for their friendly service and positive attitude each morning. The combination of great service, clean accommodations, an unbeatable location, and easy access to Waikiki Beach made this a memorable stay. We would happily return and highly recommend the Waikiki Marriott to anyone visiting Honolulu.

Nonstop Disappointments

It’s one disappointment after another, and nobody helps - avoid at all cost. The parking garage (it’s $65/night) is cramped and always full. This means you have to use valet - but the valet desk doesn’t even have a phone, so get ready to wait 20 minutes for your car. The restaurants are mediocre but priced like you’re at a top notch steakhouse. They also don’t even have one single bar that is indoors, so I hope you like being outdoors for that beer after a long day. If you’re in your room between 9am and 4pm within one year of reading this review, just know that your room will be vibrating from nonstop balcony restoration work. It’s a two year project and nobody warns you until you get here. You can stew on that while you eat your $50 breakfast. The customer service ranges from clueless to disinterested. I’ve never seen a hotel (much less a Marriott!) so resistant to making anything right while getting all the basics wrong.
