Excellent in the upgraded balcony suites
8.0Be aware: The standard suites do not have windows that open. The AC is noisy and a bit musty. Fortunately, we were able to upgrade to a balcony suite with a sliding glass door and beautiful views of the bay and Mauna Loa. We slept comfortably at night without AC in the cool moist air in Hilo. The pool below is noisy, but the sound of happy children playing did not bother us. The restaurant in the hotel, Ka Lihikai, is as good and affordable as any in town; happy not to have drive anywhere. We were not able to take advantage of the free 9-hole golf course coupons due to rain, but it looked beautiful. The staff and management was very friendly and helpful.

9.0The breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and was very vegetarian-friendly. Both the swimming pool and the room had beautiful ocean views. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the airport. Every member of the staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. It was truly a wonderful stay, and I had a great experience.
− The room design was fairly basic, and considering the price, it felt a bit dated. Overall, the interior could benefit from a more modern and updated look.
