If you’re looking to disconnect from the noise of everyday life and spend time surrounded by nature, Mamaq Tambo Lodge is a truly special place. We chose it because of the beautiful photos online, and they were every bit as stunning in person. From the lodge, you can see Gocta Waterfall in the distance, while the property is filled with coffee plants, guava trees, dragon fruit, and other tropical vegetation. A small but productive vegetable garden provides fresh ingredients for the kitchen, reinforcing the lodge’s close connection to its surroundings. Among all the places we have stayed during our travels, this is one of the rare places where we found a genuine sense of peace. In a world that rarely slows down, the quietness here feels like a luxury in itself. It's also worth mentioning that, although the lodge feels wonderfully secluded, the town of Cocachimba is just a short walk away and serves as the gateway to the trail leading to Gocta Waterfall. What makes Mamaq Tambo memorable, however, goes beyond its setting. Our host, Rayner, embodies the spirit of the lodge, part farmer, part craftsman, part artist, and part engineer. He manages the lodge and grows part of what is served at the table. Nearly everything is made from scratch, including bread made with natural starter. Don’t miss the house-roasted coffee, homemade butter and guava jam. Every aspect of the experience reflects care, authenticity, and a deep respect for the land. Nothing feels designed for show. Mamaq Tambo Lodge is more than a beautiful place to stay, it offers a glimpse of a simpler, more intentional way of living, one that stays with you long after you leave.

Logement très calme, reposant situé au milieu de la nature avec vue sur le Gocta. On n entend que les oiseaux. Nous avons dîner sur place, c était délicieux- très bon accueil de Raynar qui est également très bon cuisinier

− Le logement est accessible a pied depuis le village mais le chemin est un peu escarpé (pour ceux qui ont du mal à marcher) - le taxi a eu du mal à monter- heureusement que nous avions eu les explications au préalable (surtout de nuit !)

Superb food Stylish room Nice sauna with view

− Difficult to find as no signs. No info in room about facilities Room had been cleaned but not fully dressed/ prepared. Inadequate lights on path returning from sauna.

Il Mamoq Tambo Lodge è immerso nella natura poco sopra il pueblo di Cocachimba e regala una vista stupenda sulle Cascate di Gotca. Questa zona è realmente meravigliosa ed offre un contatto intenso con l'Amazzonia nord peruviana. Le camere, con veranda coperta, sono molto spaziose ed arredate con ottimo gusto, eccellente la colazione. Un ringraziamento particolare ad Ama che ha preparato due cene di ottima qualità e mi ha raccontato momenti di vita peruviana ed Andina. Sapete cosa è la cantuta e cosa rappresenta? Sapete quale è l'uccello simbolo del Perù? Sapete che a Cocachimba vive un particolare e rarissimo colibrì?
