7.0− The air conditioning was broken and the smell of the restaurant food was very strong during our entire stay.
Gorgeous property with lots of fun things to do! Pleasant helpful staff. Very Clean and comfortable
6.0It’s a beautiful location and a beautiful grounds with many things to do. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Much appreciated. The decor was pleasant! The curtains shades worked smoothly. Very important-I felt safe. Staff was helpful. Looked and smelled very clean. Sheets pillows comfortable. Bed is comfortable. Also, appreciated the care in less plastic including vanity items and complimentary water in aluminum bottles. I did not have the breakfast, but I did eat at the restaurant The Mill(?) and it was excellent.
− At this pricepoint there shouldn’t be problems. First room-The closet light did not go off. All of the bathroom showers should have shower wands and hot/ cold indicator makers on the shower spigot. This was room with bathtub/shower combo. My second room with shower had water everywhere. Sink had water from somewhere on counter, the shower flooded floor. It was slippery. Again should have shower wand and hot/cold indicators. Big peeve- toliet paper expandable roller was too short, not staying put, the paper flew all over. There are many things I like about Restoration Hardware items, especially the look, but many times their items do not function properly. The wall roll holders fell off. This was a replacement, expandable roll holder and too short for wall holders length, which also fell off wall. I think Restoration Hardware has a little oversized items and they also are little Janky and need very cautious installation using sticky glue and careful measuring. But again this was a plastic roll holder that was too short. I only stayed in this room one night so I’m not sure if it was fixed properly in the middle of the night. You don’t wanna search for your roll of paper. -Stairs. Should adopt Like Kohler in WI-They should just take your luggage at the check in- put it in your room, especially, if your room is on stairs. Or put in luggage elevators. Not luggage friendly. When they say stairs, you think it’s a couple steps, but it’s really a flight and that is not luggage friendly. Last-I didn’t have cash on me or a cash card. I wasn’t able to get any cash on property. Which I feel bad about because I didn’t tip help, this makes me sad.
Sketchy pricing and payment practices
2.0Pricing practices are bizarre. In the 3 days I was there for a wedding, I was charged multiple times for a “security deposit” which ended up totaling over $1000. The explanation provided each time I asked was confusing and made no sense. I would recommend other stays if possible.
Beautiful Property with Hit or Miss Service
4.0Beautiful grounds and great amenities in the Spa and Fitness Center. Rooms are a bit dated, but expect as much given it’s a historic property. What I didn’t expect was the lackluster hospitality from front desk staff after learning the reservation had been booked through a third party, even after they made a mistake with my check in. Think it could have been a one off experience, since staff elsewhere were friendly (housekeeping, the spa, etc) but really put a damper on my Mothers Day trip.
Tennis vacation
10.0Excellent Tennis vacation. Attentive staff from front desk to dining. Superb tennis clinics and lessons. George and Brian are tops
