Staff were obstructive and unhelpful

− Customer service is nonexistent. Trying to communicate with staff in lead up to our stay was almost impossible, and when we did manage to get in touch they were obstructive and very unhelpful. The worst hotel staff experience we have had in our two-month stay in Bali/Java. Very unusual: just the pits.

1.0The room itself was fine, but soundproofing is non-existent, so if noise affects you, be warned.
− I normally don’t do reviews but the negative experience at this hotel has annoyed me uncharacteristically. It is the worst (only) hotel we have stayed in Indonesia in terms of poor staff attitude (we have stayed in 17 hotels here). AVOID booking this hotel through Booking.com. The hotel does not honour Requests to Change Dates, and the phone number listed in the app is inactive. When we arrived the receptionist’s manner to us was very cold, unlike any Indonesian we have met through our travels in this friendly country. Despite acknowledging date change communications, she told us our booking was now in the past and we would have to pay again if we wanted to stay. We ended up paying twice for the room. When Booking.com’s Customer Service intervened they agreed to cancel the night we didn’t stay and refund the money. However they added a cancellation fee to the refund… the fee was the exact cost of the room! You are hopefully unlikely to experience this. What may be more relevant to your stay is the noise. You can hear the trains on the train line outside, and call to prayer from the nearby mosque. There was a lot of hotel hubbub - doors slamming, chatting in the corridor, and the bathroom fans in other guests’ rooms are extremely loud - it all sounds as if it is happening in the room with you.
