Hotel Post am See October 2025
8.0We recently stayed at Hotel Post am See and overall had a nice experience, though there are a few things that could be improved. What could be better: 1. The Wi-Fi seems a bit outdated and sometimes didn’t work properly. A faster, more reliable connection would make a big difference. 2. We reported a small issue with a lamp in our room, but it wasn’t fixed during our stay. More attention to maintenance requests would really help. 3. We asked to extend our stay by one night, and the reception kindly agreed. However, the room key and restaurant records weren’t updated, which caused some unnecessary confusion. 4. The room design includes a lamp in the hallway that could easily be bumped into in low light. A small design change could prevent this. 5. During the summer, rooms above the outdoor pool can be a bit noisy, so light sleepers might prefer another area. What we really enjoyed: 1. The restaurant was usually excellent. The food and service were great, and the manager’s presence during busy times really stood out. 2. The cuisine is traditional Austrian, very authentic and well prepared, though guests should be aware it reflects local tastes. 3. The view from the room and the lake is beautiful and creates a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. 4. The hotel staff were kind and provided helpful information whenever we asked. 5. The price was quite reasonable for the Familiensuite Design room with half board and offered good value for money. Overall: A comfortable stay in a beautiful lakeside setting with great food and lovely views. With a few small improvements, it could be an excellent experience.
Fantastic holiday
10.0We have just returned from two weeks stay and we absolutely loved it. The hotel is in such a gorgeous place right opposite the lake. Our room was on the back but with beautiful views of the mountains. The room was very spacious and modern with a large balcony. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of sockets available. The breakfast has plenty to choose from including an egg/omelette station. You were given a newsletter each morning and printed on it was the dinner menu with three choices for the main course. Usually meat, fish & veggie option. Dining room staff were all friendly and helpful. Meals were good and well presented. The bar in the evening was very pleasant to sit outside with views of the lake. Low key entertainment was on a couple of times when we were there and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The indoor and outdoor pools are lovely and so is the spa. Pool towels are provided. When we arrived we were offered the Achensee card which costs 95 euros per person and we opted for it, which gives you access to buses, boat, steam train, cable cars and some museums, also entry into Swarovski world. It was well worth it for us. We went on the boat twice to different parts of the lake. Also went to Swarovski world and we used the local bus which stopped right outside the hotel, we went on the steam train which was lovely. We went on the cable cars which were a short walk behind the hotel. We definitely think the Achensee card was worth it . We went on the bus a lot to the surrounding areas. We had a few meals out which were all good. We also went to Innsbruck on the train, although this was outside the area to use the card, you can get the bus to Jenbach on the card then catch the train from there, Innsbruck is gorgeous and easy to get around. We had fantastic weather and if we had one small complaint, it was that there was no air con in the bedroom. It was stifling at night. We tried to keep the curtains closed during the day to keep the sun out which helped a bit. The hotel is in such a fantastic place, right beside the lake. There are a few little shops close by including a small supermarket, as well as restaurants and cafes. The whole atmosphere around is peaceful and calm. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and didn’t want to leave.
Fantastic location and comfortable family run hotel.
10.0This is such a friendly hotel which met and exceeded all our holiday needs. I was travelling with a friend and we wanted to Hike, Cycle and swim in the lake and we enjoyed doing all of that with the help and assistance of the reception staff Joanne and Vincent. The location means you can easily find hikes for any level of fitness and the meals and the views at the hotel are fantastic. I had visited before and had a room overlooking the Lake which was just fantastic and when arriving this time and finding we had a rear Mountain View room I thought I would be disappointed however when I saw the view I was delighted.

6.0Personal sehr sehr unfreundlich. Im Restaurant Bereich.
Excellent facilities but felt isolated at mealtimes
6.0Excellent location on Pertisau's lakefront, a short walk to the ferry point/shops etc, short walk to cable car and with a bus stop just outside. Good sized corner room, with decent pressure in the shower, a dressing table, plenty of storage and somewhere to sit other than the bed (which doesn't always happen in a single room). Great leisure facilities with indoor and outdoor pools (indoor one a pleasant temperature). Neck jet and massage jets in the pool and a whirlpool section plus a separate whirlpool at a higher temperature. All kept clean and I often had indoor pool to myself. Good range of foods at breakfast. A small themed section which changed each day but breads, rolls, pastries, fruit, cereal etc always available and an egg station for made to order omelettes etc so choice for everyone. Dinner was a salad buffet, choice of a cream or a broth style soup, choice of main (typically one meat, one fish, one veggie option) and a dessert. Also had a couple of themed evening buffets where you chose directly from chef at their station. Generally evening food well presented and tasty. Also offered afternoon snack buffet- typically one hot option with an accompaniment plus soup, small salad & cold cuts selection, bread and some choices of cakes. You could just have a snack or could effectively have a full couple of courses late lunch. Cleaning staff were efficient and were quick & happy to help one day having accidentally locked my key card in my room. Unfortunately despite all these positive elements my stay was not as enjoyable as it could or should have been. I stayed on a half board package booked months in advance yet I was still not given a table in the main restaurant area and was seated in the bar area insead. The surrounding tables had different people every day or were empty so I never got the chance to meet other guests staying longer and it was quite isolating given I was a solo traveller. I often had long gaps between courses, the process for ordering the evening meal seemed to change depending who was on shift (I'd ordered at the start of the meal for the first few days then it got switched to ordering at breakfast), I was very rarely given the daily newsletter on the table at breakfast so had to go and find my own copy. One morning there was a group event in the bar but I hadn't been told about this in advance and staff didn't seem to have a plan where I could have my breakfast instead. I had to leave for the airport before breakfast opened and ordered a packed breakfast but was not told I needed to collect this the night before as reception would also be closed in the morning. No effort was made to get this to me on the night before, so I ended up having to leave for the airport without any food. There was also a mix up with charging me for the wrong drink on one of the evenings. The key card acts as the guest card and you can also pay to upgrade this to a 7 day card with unlimited use of ferries, cable cars etc. This is a service offered by reception but when I asked I was made to feel like this was a huge chore for them. Overall while the facilities and location are excellent and I still had a good holiday, my experience at mealtimes and never really feeling welcome or valued as a guest would massively put me off returning again.
