Nice stay, comfy beds, relaxing pool
8.0The bayside pool was great, we loved the option to use hotel provided floaties and a beach ball. It was neat watching the planes take off and land from our room, and the beds were very comfortable. Accommodating letting us stay in the same room when we booked our trip in separate reservations. Door staff was attentive opening the door every time you walk near! Location is a short drive to tons of restaurants and shopping. Plus pretty views of the bay!
− The food options felt very limited. The shower floor is incredibly slippery outside of the mat they provide - be mindful with young children. The water temp also fluctuated from comfortable to molten lava, haha.
Dreadful Experience - Don’t Recommend This Hotel
3.0− The original room I was placed in was not clean. Shower did not have hot water and the shower curtain and tub was filthy. The toilet was not clean as hair was on the seat and the inside was not clean nor was the floor. I requested a room change and the front desk staff offered to clean the room. I explained my friend and I were on a tight schedule as we were in town to attend a concert that would be starting soon. They finally agreed to switch our room. We waited to move our items to a new room. The hotel staff particularly the assistant managers were not at all kind or professional especially Amy who my friend spoke to over the phone when we originally requested the first room switch. We were offered a $100 price reduction and a parking accommodation. The problem here is the parking alone was $30/$40 we were late to the concert and had to take an Uber at the last minute on top of being moved from one unclean room to the next. As a frequent traveler and person who understands the importance of grace and knowing things can happen, there are some things as such the hotel should fully accommodate and make whole for future guests. The unfortunate part about this was there were guests aside from myself at the front desk complaining about the unclean rooms. My biggest issue beyond the unclear room was the staff response and lack of accountability. The $100 credit was just about the cost of taxes and valet parking. The staff inclusive of management for sure need some improved guest service coaching and/or training. The money to pay for the room was never an issue because I booked the stay with the intent the facilities, room, and service would align with the experience- I was indeed wrong and it was opposite.
Moldy Pillow
4.0First, my family of five arrived at noon and were informed that our suite was still being cleaned. After waiting approximately three and a half hours, we were told the suite was finally ready. I asked the receptionist whether the room included a refrigerator and microwave, and she confirmed that it did. Upon entering the suite, we discovered there was no microwave. Although there was a mini‑fridge, we soon realized it was not functioning. We contacted the front desk regarding both issues. We were told that we would need to go to the floor below to use a shared microwave located in the corridor. After a second call regarding the refrigerator, a maintenance technician came to inspect it, confirmed it was not working, and stated that it needed to be replaced. The most concerning issue, however, involved one of the bed pillows, which was severely moldy. My wife unknowingly slept on this pillow, as it is not common practice to thoroughly inspect bedding in a hotel room. By the third day of our stay, she noticed a rash developing on parts of her face. At that point, she examined the bedding more closely and discovered the mold on the pillow she had been using. We immediately notified the front desk, and housekeeping staff came to inspect the pillow. They removed it from the room. Before checking out, we filed a report with the security team, who informed us that someone would follow up with additional information. After returning home, I received a survey from Hyatt regarding our stay, in which I detailed our concerns. Following that, I received an email from the manager at the Tampa Grand Hyatt, Charlie Tidbury, who thanked me for bringing the incident to their attention and assured me they would work to prevent such issues in the future. I replied asking whether any credits used to book the suite can be reimbursed to us as Hyatt members due to the inconvenience and the mold‑related health concern, but I never receive a response. Despite these issues, I would like to note that the hotel staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We ordered breakfast one morning, and the food was good with generous portions. The overall property and facilities were well maintained and clean.
Great hotel. Small rooms, expensive parking.
8.0Lovely business style hotel. Our room was fairly small. Quite a long walk to the main pool. Parking very expensive. Reasonable value if priced less than $200 per night.
