10.0The location was perfect for visiting our daughter at the naval base across the street. The room was spotless, the bed exceptionally comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping went above and beyond, making an already wonderful stay even more enjoyable.
− Housekeeping did not service our room until around 4:00 p.m. While later than expected, it was only a minor inconvenience and did not detract from the excellent service we received.

9.0The front desk staff was exceptional, every time we interacted with them. Starting with our check-in specialist, Anai, who was super accommodating and helpful, and continuing with the folks with whom we texted to ask questions, and finishing with the check-out staff the next day, who were also friendly and cheerful. There was a small fridge in the room, which we greatly valued because we had leftovers. Location was very central to our needs.
− Room was what kind of what we expected but location wasn't great: we were next to a busy street (Nimitz), which was not ideal (cars were racing by all night - those sounds don't bother us but others might be more sensitive.) As well, I thought we booked a room with elevator access and we ended up being in the "walk-up building" (second story, only stairs). Frankly, it was also a ridiculously expensive stay for one night at a DoubleTree, but there were multiple events in town (Pride, etc.) and it's summer in San Diego, so we get it. This spot was more reasonable than many other options, which is why we chose it.

− That the bar/restaurant were not in the main building and most of the doors did not open so you had to walk all the way around the property. Also the parking sucks on this property.

Overall great experience would definitely stay here again.
10.0Staff was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor area was beautiful with a nice pool, a big hot tub and some outdoor entertainment. The beds were very comfortable and the location was great.
