10.0Very clean
The location was excellent
10.0Close to everything
− No where to sit outside
Absolutely wonderful! Cannot wait to return!
10.0So, when I booked this room, I initially thought it was in pigeon forge. (Where I’m most familiar with, lol) But, no biggie because we absolutely loved it! The room and balcony were clean. Beds were comfy. I personally loved the location of it as well. From the way we entered, it was the very first hotel we came to. (Granted, I do think for most routes it would be the last hotel) but the streets were quiet and the view was wonderful. There were two men (probably 30s - 40s) who were EXTREMELY helpful at the front desk. The older gentleman who makes the breakfast in the morning was so sweet as well. I’ve always booked in pigeon forge. For around 10 years now. And I’ve not had many stays in gatlinburg. I told my husband this hotel made me love it even more! We agreed when we return, we will be staying in gatlinburg at this hotel!!! We were able to walk to the aquarium with our kids (both 8) and they loved it!
− There was an older man at the front desk (maybe mid 60s?) who was extremely rude on two occasions to both my husband and I. He was also rude to the employees. So much so that I actually apologized to the employee on his behalf. One man (mid 30s / early 40s?) was helping me out because my key stopped working. He was in the process of helping me when the older gentleman (who was already on the phone with another customer) grabbed the keys out of my hand and asked me why I was checking out early very rudely. I let him know that wasn’t my intention and someone else already had it handled. He rolled his eyes and asked me what I needed. I had to explain to him two more times what I needed when clearly the other gentleman had it handled. Don’t get me wrong, this didn’t influence my opinion of the hotel at all. I was more offended by how he treated the employees.
I had lots of fun
10.0I like staying there 1 time seeing a bear
− I didn’t like when the old man who was fixing the food cough and didn’t change his gloves
Great Stay at Black Bear Inn
10.0The location was on the strip, but opposite of all the cars and foot traffic. We enjoyed the convenience of being able to avoid the busy street traffic, but still enjoyed our view from the room.
− Nothing. Pool is out of commission right now.
