Five-Star Family Reunion Experience at Turf Valley Resort

Our family recently held our 13th Pearson Family Reunion at Turf Valley Resort, July 17–19, 2026, and our experience was absolutely amazing. As the DMV Chapter Chair, I was involved in nearly two years of planning, and Turf Valley was there for us from beginning to end. From our very first visit, Erik guided us through the planning process. Later, we began working with Maggie, and together they were outstanding. They answered our calls and emails, helped us work through challenges, and were always available with solutions. Their professionalism, patience, and genuine commitment to making our reunion successful were exceptional. The outstanding service continued throughout our reunion weekend. Robert at the front desk, Gloria, the management team, banquet staff, and the entire Turf Valley team made our family feel welcomed and well cared for. The resort was beautiful, the food was excellent, the facilities worked wonderfully for our events, and our family members repeatedly told us how much they enjoyed themselves. We did experience a storm-related power outage in part of the hotel, which unfortunately caused a few of our elderly family members, including my parents, to check out early. However, we understood that the storm was beyond the resort’s control, and it does not take away from the exceptional experience we had. After nearly two years of planning, seeing our family gathered together and having such a wonderful time made everything worthwhile. Turf Valley Resort truly earned five stars from the Pearson Family. We especially thank Erik and Maggie for being with us from the first day until the very end. We highly recommend Turf Valley for family reunions and other large gatherings!

Location was nice

− The staff was horrible and it smelled moldy. Cut my stay short it was so horrible

Overall, the stay was okay. I expected better amenities for the price I paid.

The overall aesthetic was good. The staff was fine. The pool and jacuzzi were nice, there were no other guests in the indoor pool area so we were able to enjoy that alone.

− The noise level of other guests late at night. I know the resort is not in control of this, but the first night wasn't a good experience. The bed made creaking noises, and we discovered ants in the bathroom. The beds were not super comfortable, but we made it work.

The Perfect Stay Getaway

I'm so happy with this stay. 1st: the resort and property was breathtaking. 2 golf courses, 2 pools, fitness center, spa and restaurant. There is a designer mall on property. We came for a wedding at the Howard County Conservary nearby, but we would book Turf Valley Resort for a stay vacay again. Lots of excursions for Washington DC and Baltimore.

− Everything. We don't golf but it was exciting to watch the golfers and caddies tee off. The breakfast at the on-site restaurant Alexandra's was excellent. Lots of families there. Kids splashing in the pool. Also their was a wedding there. We requested early check in. Had no problem with that and easy check out. All staff that crossed our path greeted us.

Nice Stay, Great Spa

Great spa and the hotel room was spacious and beautiful. We had great massages and calming room experience at the spa. The hotel team membes also left a tray of yummy dessert treats in our mini fridge too! Had a lot of issues getting our getaway booked--the spa was impossible to get a hold of and after two messages and an email, called the front of the hotel, who then left them a note to call me back. At Alexandra's restaurant, we had incredibly slow service (we had to ask for our water to be refilled every time, our waiter forgot our bottle of wine, and the whole meal was over 2 hours for just the two of us. Thankfully, we weren't in a hurry to be anywhere). But the food for dinner was absolutely fantastic! Ahi tuna and friend chicken sandwich for the win. After such great food the night before, I would say we were heavily disappointed in the breakfast that was included in our package, that we had the next morning. Great amentities--pools, sauna, the spa. Not sure if the value it's worth the price for the package, but it was lovely just the same.
