7.0The hotel was okay, room clean and spacious. Next to the sea.
− I went there because of a work-related event held at the hotel. This venue is far away from the center of Istambul, so I decided to stay in this hotel. After booking, I realized that I could get a discount in this hotel because of the event. I tried to make a change to the reservation and book the same hotel via the event website. Booking was flexible on this, but the hotel was very strict, they took some time to answer and eventually denied me this possibility, which I think is quite mean for an expensive hotel. Specially considering that this had been done with enough time (more than one month earlier of the date of the stay) and that I was still planning to stay at the same hotel. They said that for this change I needed to pay the full amount, which is approximately 370 euros! Also the staff of the café next to the lobby was not kind. I needed the vouchers of the food I bought for declaring the costs in my work. Before even asking she took away the ticket and made a ball and cut it wrong (it was partly broken). I said that I wanted the ticket and just partly made it plain again and gave it to me instead of printing a new one that was in good condition and not broken. She did not even apologized or mentioned anything. For such an expensive hotel, which in Istambul, where hotels in touristic areas are considerably cheaper, I expected a bit more empathy. I went to this place only because there was no other sensible choice given the event in which I was attending.
