Mis sold and misled by booking.com when booking verses reality

Nothing as felt duked

− Booking.com scammed me as offered free up grade being genius 2 status but at the hotel, they refused to honoured it stating Booking.com hadn't requested or confirmed up grade.. Raised a complaint with booking.com about booking.com and they dismissed it as couldn't resolve with provider. Don't really think they care.!!!

Frente a la playa zona de bares

− Al salir nos dijeron que ya volvían para que entreguemos la habitación, al volver salimos como habíamos quedado y entreguemos recepción de muy mala manera nos hablaron y cobraron U$$ 40 dólares por 30 minutos Y no me reintegraron el depósito de la tarjeta, tampoco me dieron nada ni quisieron ir a ver la habitación que estaba todo en orden

We had the end room, #902. While it did not have a balcony, it did have a seating area just around the corner, which was an amazing ocean view. There were 2 chairs and a table which was nice. The room was comfortable and had a small refrigerator/freezer, cooktop and microwave. There was a sink and coffeemaker in the kitchen area. There is a concrete walkway that runs along the ocean so you don't have to walk through the sand if you don't want to.

− The parking and check-in areas were not provided by Booking.com. When we arrived, we parked by the hotel and saw a sign that said check-in is around the corner with an address. After wandering around a bit, we asked someone staying at the resort where check-in is. It is the next street and about 3 small blocks to get to. At check-in we were advised parking was an additional $20 and received a parking tag for the car. We were told free breakfast was at the hotel across the street. We were given room keys and a sheet detailing where our room was located. We learned we could park anywhere with HBH designations. The outside of the motel is not much to look at but the room was recently renovated and was nice. When we got to the room, there was a coffeemaker but no filters or coffee. There is a kitchen set-up but no pots/pans or utensils. My husband discovered you could get a free kitchen kit from the front desk. When we went to breakfast the next morning it was very difficult to find the entrance to get to the breakfast area. Once we finally did locate the breakfast area, the food was inside. The coffee and toasters are outside, as well as the patio area to eat. It was a very hot and humid morning when we stayed so eating outside was not very comfortable. However, we did appreciate the fact that the continental-style breakfast was free. The Booking.com site shows a pool on site. However, HBH manages about 20 properties in the area. The sheet of paper we received showed the locations of about 5 pools we could use but we would have to walk a block or two to get to them. That was a bit of a disappointment since the ocean was covered in seaweed (Red Tide?) and you could not go into the ocean.
