A Birthday Stay I’ll Never Forget at Park Hyatt Kyoto

10.0

My stay at Park Hyatt Kyoto was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived until the day I checked out, every member of the team made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. I was incredibly grateful to receive a room upgrade, and the view from my room was simply breathtaking. Waking up to the beauty of Kyoto each morning was an experience I’ll never forget. The hotel also made my birthday celebration feel truly special with a thoughtful birthday cake and other wonderful touches that made the occasion even more memorable. What truly sets this property apart is its exceptional team. A heartfelt thank you to Billy Koo for his warm hospitality, and to Ivan, who personally welcomed me at check-in. He gave me a wonderful tour of my upgraded room, walked me through all of its features, and surprised me with the beautiful birthday cake waiting inside. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm made me feel at home from the very first moment. Another unforgettable experience was the complimentary garden tour led by the incredibly kind Spanish staff member. Even though heavy rain began about 15 minutes into the tour, he continued sharing fascinating stories about the gardens and the rich history of the property with so much passion and knowledge. His enthusiasm never faded despite the weather, and it became one of the highlights of my stay. The location is simply unmatched. Nestled in Kyoto’s historic Higashiyama district, the hotel blends seamlessly into one of the city’s most iconic and culturally significant neighborhoods. Walking through the beautifully preserved streets before and after the crowds, then returning to the peaceful elegance of the hotel, was an experience unlike any other. Luxury hotels can offer beautiful rooms and fine dining, but what truly makes a stay unforgettable is the people. Every staff member I encountered was warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating memorable experiences for their guests. Thank you to Billy Koo, Ivan, the wonderful garden tour guide, and the entire Park Hyatt Kyoto team for making my birthday and my visit to Kyoto so incredibly special. I can’t wait to return.

A True Oasis in the Heart of Kyoto

10.0

Park Hyatt Kyoto is nothing short of Japanese perfection. We traveled as a family with two children, and this was one of the most memorable hotel stays we’ve ever had. The service is extraordinary. Every member of the staff was genuinely warm, gracious, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even asked. Nothing was too much trouble, and their attention to detail made us feel truly cared for throughout our stay. The hotel itself is the definition of serenity. Step outside and you’re immersed in the energy and crowds of Higashiyama, but the moment you return to the hotel, it’s like entering another world. It is calm, peaceful, and beautifully designed—a true refuge where we looked forward to returning after a day of sightseeing. One unexpected advantage is that most of the shops and restaurants in the surrounding area close by around 6:00 p.m. As a result, the neighborhood becomes wonderfully quiet in the evening. Even better, by waking up early each morning, I had the historic streets almost entirely to myself. Walking through the empty lanes before the crowds arrived was one of the highlights of our trip. The location simply can’t be beat. You’re within walking distance of Kiyomizu-dera, charming streets, temples, shops, and some of Kyoto’s best restaurants, yet the hotel remains remarkably quiet and secluded. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel that perfectly captures the elegance, hospitality, and tranquility of Japan, look no further. We would return to Park Hyatt Kyoto in a heartbeat and recommend it without hesitation.

Lindo hotel com visual clássico no coração de Kyoto. Equipe de funcionários espetacular . Vale o preço

10.0

Great Stay, But Globalist Benefits Fell Short

6.0

The hotel has a very authentic Japanese atmosphere, and every staff member I interacted with was professional, courteous, and attentive. The location is excellent, with many of Kyoto’s major attractions within walking distance. As a Globalist, I understand the hotel has a limited number of upgraded room categories. Although I was hoping for a Pagoda View room, I was upgraded from a standard King room to a King Garden Terrace instead. I can understand that higher-category rooms may not have been available. What disappointed me was the check-in experience. The front desk simply informed me that my room had been upgraded, but there was no explanation that no higher-category rooms were available or that the hotel was fully committed. A brief explanation would have helped me better understand the situation and would have made me feel that my Globalist status was genuinely acknowledged I have stayed at other Hyatt properties where the front desk took the time to explain why a higher-category upgrade was unavailable. That small gesture made me feel much more valued as a loyal Globalist member The other disappointing part of my stay was the late checkout experience. As a Globalist, I had planned my departure around the 4:00 PM late checkout benefit. Unfortunately, I was only offered a 1:00 PM checkout, which significantly disrupted my travel plans. I had to check out early, leave my luggage with the front desk, spend several hours outside the hotel, then return to collect my bags before heading to the airport. It made the last day of my trip much less relaxing and less convenient. Overall, I truly enjoyed the hotel, its location, and the outstanding service from the staff. I only hope the hotel can better recognize the Globalist late checkout benefit whenever possible, as it is one of the most valuable reasons many of us remain loyal Hyatt members.
