Appalling room
2.0We had a terrible stay at this hotel and had to leave a day early. The road way to the hotel is appalling and full of pot holes. On arrival at reception the receptionist was pleasant, we then got to our room, even before entering you were hit by the smell of damp and mould, we entered the room and straight away had to open windows because of the smell. We then had to kill numerous spiders and upon looking in the bathroom we were greeted by mould around the bath and on the light fitting, the tv didn’t have a remote so we couldn’t watch that. We approached reception and were told that because the hotel was full we couldn’t be moved. On speaking with several other residents they informed us of the same thing. Having had covid and being left with severe respiratory issues ( as well as having a young family) we had to use the room for the night which made us all feel unwell and our clothes stink of damp and mould. The following morning we checked out( this was due to the appalling state of the room). My respiratory problems have been made worse due to the damp and general uncleanliness of this room Never ever stayed anywhere so bad

4.0At first glance this is a beautiful setting and the initial impression of a modern interior sets high expectations. Those expectations were let down by the room & staff. Room: not cleaned properly (clothes from previous occupant not removed from cupboard; pill blister pack found under bed sheet) - we cannot be sure the room was cleaned to Covid standards; unsympathetic staff who need training in client services & record keeping. Will not recommend to others and will not visit again.

10.0Great experience. Very friendly staff and covid safe. Only stayed one night as travelling on. Food was lovely and breakfast was hot and everything well cooked. Now we know it's there, very happy to stay again in the future.
