6.0To my surprise the shower was great and did get hot. It's has a lovely history and I love supporting a small business owner. Snacks, water & coffee were nice to have available. If you are a walker and like history there is tons to see. Close to some good restaurants.
− My room did not look like the photos. The door never locked so I slept with the chair up against the door.I did let the staff know through text. Yet, nothing was done. There was never a sign to state you didn't want your room cleaned. Thus, when I came back to my room the AC and fan were on high- which the staff turned on and I DID NOT WANT. The water in the sink had low pressure and never, never got hot. But not feeling safe in my room as a single female travel was not comfortable. So both nights I slept with the chair against the door. This was a mini vacation. But not feeling safe by my door not locking made it less relaxing.
Great, affordable place to stay near downtown Raleigh.
8.0Cute! Great vibe. Easy check-in and check-out instructions. Good size room. Common area was nice and well kept. Tea choices were varied.
− Just a minor thing: the air conditioner sound took a little getting used to for sleeping purposes. But obviously very grateful to have it in the summer heat!

9.0Clean and well maintained
− N/A
Worth it for something different!
8.0Clean, good location, great amenities, easy communication and access, comfy bed
− High indoor humidity, wall-mounted AC unit made loud cyclical noises
Modernized and updated boutique hotel
9.0Super clean and quiet, great location and snacks / simple breakfast. Shared areas are comfortable and historically / authentic attractive. Has white noise generator for sleeping.
− Balcony is basically just a door to the shared backyard. No microwave or other appliances for guest use. Curtains and blinds don’t really block out all the light at night (or the morning, of course)
They did everything right!
10.0This place was beautiful. What an incredible renovation. It has upscale hostel vibes where people actually said hello. This is one of the nicest places I have stayed and I have been all over the world and stayed in some nice accommodations.
