It’s not the ritz but it’s just fine
8.0You can tell when a property and the people there care and I did feel that way here. A younger gal was trying to check in but there was no one at the front desk. I called their line a couple times and an employee did show up. I will say the lobby is very cramped. I felt for the young lady who was being surrounded by gruff dudes and I hope (and am sure) their satay went safely. It may be important to note for accessibility that the elevator (one) is in the middle of the building. Parking on either end means a not terrible climb the stairs are decent. The room smelled pretty heavily of ozone cleaner, and weed definitely came out of other rooms. I don’t really take much umbrage with that. This is a part of town where you’re not looking for expensive appointed amenities. The parking lot is well lit so parking didn’t feel like a huge issue. I was able to DoorDash and Walmart orders without an issue (tip them for the elevator time) I needed an inexpensive place to take a break from my life at home and it fit the bill. It’s as advertised a hotel with doors which open to the outside. I appreciate that my following the rules led to the deposit being waived but I’d rather had the deposit (which would be refunded) than the $30 early check in fee :( I will say this: I had the means to pay, the gal ahead of me in line was clearly going through it. They showed her care and empathy and that was cool to see. The rest of us with money can stand to pay these fees to help offset those who can’t. Anyway I’m not that mad about it, but I might have stayed closer to home if I knew an extra $15 per night for early check in was a thing. Oh well it’s not a big deal. There are service stations and fast food around. You can have stuff delivered to the door easily. Here’s my perspective- this is a value oriented place and if you’re picky there’s other places to go. Shoutouts to the custodial staff for changing out my towels and bringing pillows for a messed up knee!
