10.0nice location and was interesting to see the Tides brining in water to some parts of the parking lot and excellent hot tub
Would stay again
8.0The location was great, with a view of Richardson Bay and Coyote Creek, which made for nice walks too. We found it a convenient pit stop between Muir Woods and SF, and got dinner at Sausalito.
− We had some trouble with opening the door and had to go all the way back to the reception, since our room was in a building at the far end. Turned out that we had to lift the handle, instead of pushing it down. The heater was a bit noisy, so we switched it off before we went to bed.
Enjoyed Our Stay
8.0My family stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley SF overnight on a Wednesday in mid-July after going to nearby Muir Woods. The hotel is next to some water that creates a nice view. There were many signs to let us know that from midnightish to 3amish the high tide could cause that water to overflow into the parking lot. The lady that check us in marked on a map of the hotel how much water each part of the hotel parking lot gets from 1 inch to 8 inches (don't park in the back.) Our car was fine in the morning. Our room was a comfortable size and clean. The beds were comfortable. Everything worked as it should. We had a balcony that overlooked the pool area so when we saw that the hot tub was empty we headed down. Two young kids were swimming in the pool with their parent watching. We did not try the pool but it looked inviting. The hot tub was very hot but once in for a few minutes we were fine. We had dinner at nearby Hook Fish Restaurant. Their fish and chips was delicious. (FYI: It is a very dog friendly restaurant on their very large outdoor dining area where you might be seated at one of the long tables with other people.) It is next to a pollinator garden plant nursery where we went back and picked up some plants the next day. Across the street we enjoyed some donuts from Bob's Donuts SF. After dinner we returned to the hotel and used their drink area to get some tea and hot chocolate which we enjoyed at a table in the spacious ajoining area. There is an outdoor seating area too that looked comfortable. Before leaving the hotel in the morning we had breakfast downstairs. Comparable to other Holiday Inns I've stayed at. Then we took a 30 minute walk on the paved trail that starts in front of the hotel before packing up to leave. Very enjoyable and interesting views. Passed by other walkers, bikers, and runners. I would be happy to stay there again if visiting near Mill Valley.
