Overall, we had an enjoyable stay, but the hotel fell short of the five-star experience we were expecting.

We loved the location, with the hotel situated right on the beach and just a scenic 20-minute walk along the shoreline into town. The grounds were beautifully maintained, with lush gardens, vibrant flowers and tropical plants creating a relaxing atmosphere. The gym was modern, well-equipped and offered a great variety of machines. We also loved the selection of pools, and the poolside food and drink service was impressively fast. A real highlight of our stay was Harrison’s Restaurant. The food was exceptional, and the ambience made for a wonderful dining experience. The breakfast buffet offered an excellent variety of options, with particularly delicious made-to-order omelettes and great coffee to start the day.

− I think this hotel was probably a true five-star property in its heyday, but unfortunately it no longer compares with the standard of most five-star hotels I regularly stay in. The property is looking quite tired and would really benefit from a refurbishment. Some of the facilities, such as the lobby toilets, feel very dated and appear to have changed little since the hotel was built. Our bathroom was also disappointing. It needed a more thorough clean, with noticeable hard water stains on the shower glass and soap scum around the wall-mounted shampoo and conditioner dispensers. These are small details, but they're not what I would expect from a hotel marketed as five-star. The service also fell short of five-star expectations. Housekeeping seemed inconsistent, we often ran out of toilet paper and had to call reception to have more delivered. One evening, around 7 pm, housekeeping offered us fresh towels, which seemed unusual, yet our towels hadn't been replaced earlier in the day and the beds hadn't been refreshed. We were also surprised that guests have to refill their own drinking water each day from a fountain near the pool, rather than having bottled or replenished water provided in the room. One thing I wasn't accustomed to was guests reserving pool loungers early in the morning with towels. We often went to the pool later in the day and struggled to find an available sunbed, despite many appearing to be unoccupied for long periods but still "reserved." Another issue was that room service trays were often left outside guest rooms for hours before being collected, which detracted from the overall appearance of the hotel. Overall, while we enjoyed some aspects of our stay, I don't think I would choose to stay here again. I would only recommend it if you can secure a good deal, as I don't feel the experience justifies the premium prices charged during peak periods.

The hotel itself is so beautiful. The pools are gorgeous and the staff are extremely professional

− A little far out of town to walk so reliant on shuttles which are very frequent but a little pricey for everyday.

Location, room, pools

− All good

4 adults that spent circa $8k for 4 nights, we were all very underwhelmed. Run down & not 5 star!

The gardens.

− Too much to list. But bedding old, bathroom set up (shower in the bath up a step), breakfast buffet slow to refill and waited in line over 30 minutes. No atmosphere in the foyer, by 8pm it was empty and nothing to do.
