− The pillows were pancakes.
Great hotel and great conference/meeting areas.
10.0This is an absolutely gorgeous location and I haven't stayed here before because it is so close to home (Flagstaff). Finally got my chance to stay here for a board meeting. I was given a room with a great view of the red rocks on the third floor. The room was comfortable and quiet with great atmosphere, from a sky/star gazing area and great trails. Great service as I was asked many times if I needed any assistance or how my day was by staff I passed in the hallway as well as at a position. The place was clean and very presentable. The conference room was large and had good sound and AV. Our food for the meetings was very good and well made. The pool complex looked great and I was jealous of the people in there while I was wearing a suit (but not a bathing suit). I look forward to coming back again.
The good, bad and the ugly
6.0spent a few days at the resort: Good, Bad and the Ugly. The good: great views and only very short drive to Sedona. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful. Ivan was a big help at the Valet. The rooms are nice with almost no wear and tear shown. The Bad: The hallway carpets need to be replaced as there are many stains. The Olympic sized lap pool is under construction and could not be used. The spa & wellness center was also under remodeling so they setup some sort of makeshift spa... a little weird. the Tennis courts need to be resurfaced with the upper court having water pooled on it constantly. the second tennis court had some sort of rubber cover and was lifting up making the courts nearly unusable. Ugly: We had a bad experience in the Hotel restaurant with one of the waiters and the food was way over priced. Food offerings in the restaurant were limited and a little strange....i.e. deviled eggs? never seen a nice restaurant serving deviled eggs. ...Stay away from the restaurant at the Hotel. Go to Mileys restaurant within 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Great Breakfast, great staff and great mexican food. I would say overall the hotel has that typical Sedona hotel ambience and smell in a good way. However, the property's failure to disclose renovations, some staff with questionable attitudes, and general lack of upkeep keeps this hotel and location from receiving higher marks. Maybe when all facilities are up to date and working it can receive higher marks. Recommendation: Restaurant: change the food selection by adding some better appetizer selections, smaller plates and add some more familiar options.
Best chain hotel in the area
8.0Best hotel in the area with a large pool, restaurant and nice views. We stayed on points it is south of Sedona so away from the madness. We had a large KIng suite. There are 2 pools, bar service, a large restaurant but parking up the hill or down the hill may be problematic for some, we had handicapped parking near the lobby.
