6.0The Savoy is undoubtedly a beautiful and luxurious hotel, with a wonderful atmosphere that immediately immerses you in a classic British experience. The décor, history and overall ambience are very special.
− However, considering the exceptionally high price, our stay did not feel as extraordinary as we had expected. Our room had virtually no view, as it appeared to be partly below street level—we could only see a small section of the street above. When paying this much for a hotel room, it is reasonable to expect at least some kind of pleasant outlook. The breakfast arrangement was also disappointing. Each guest receives a £45 allowance, which makes the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable, as you find yourself calculating what you can order without exceeding the credit. At a hotel of this standard, breakfast should feel generous and effortless, not like something guests need to budget throughout the meal. We also felt that the staff sometimes assumed guests already knew how everything worked. For example, we were asked to choose between two restaurants for breakfast, but nobody explained the difference between them. These may seem like small details, but clear and attentive guidance is precisely what elevates a luxury hotel experience. Overall, The Savoy is an impressive and very British hotel, but at this price level, we expected the entire experience to feel seamless and truly exceptional. Unfortunately, that was not the case during our stay.
