The location/view and facilities

− Charging €5 service charge to walk down a short flight of steps to deliver a tonic water to our room

A lovely view and pool but I wouldn't go again because of all the chargeable extras.

The view was lovely, the breakfast buffet was good. Max, the breakfast waiter, was excellent.

− The suite was dark and the balcony tiny, though it did have a good view. I thought we would have more outside space and the living room was useless to sit in because it was so dark. I was very disappointed that I paid 800 euros per night for bed and breakfast, yet any extras (such as an omelette or fresh-squeezed orange juice) were charged additionally. I feel they should have been included. Similarly, no water was provided gratis in the room and every bottle was charged for. And the car parking / valet service was an extra 25 euros a day. For 800 euros, I would expect not to have to pay additionally for water or breakfast extras, nor to park my car on the hotel property. This was all very disappointing.

Amazing rooms with private pool and balcony with unbeatable views (in the new section)

The new section of the hotel is very nice. I was in a large room with a private pool, balcony and outside area to lounge in the sun. The room is well decorated and laid out. The view is breathtaking. I'd be surprised if you can beat it in the whole of Sicily to be honest.

− Only a very minor point, but communication with the font desk is not always straight forward from the room. Having tried using the room phone to make the odd request, I was asked to use the WhatsApp service instead. I then found this was often ignored. Not ideal and hopefully can be fixed, as otherwise the service is great once you get through to someone.

Our romantic Etna experience

The whole experience was perfect, romantic and very comfortable. The food and wine was delicious. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.

− Would we stay there again? Possibly! We love Sicily, we love Taormina but maybe we'd choose to be more central without having to use the very convenient shuttle every time we wanted a coffee in town. That's a matter of our choice as is the price, worth every penny for the position, the amazing views, the quality of food and wine and the comfort. And the staff were just fab. Thanks!!!
