Not absolutely terrible, but absolutely not worth what I have paid.
4.0So I'll start with the good stuff. The girl on the reception desk was very sweet and super helpful. That's all of the good stuff. To suggest that this hotel is 'at the airport' is a bit of a stretch. It's 15 minutes away in an UBER. It's also on the edge of an industrial estate and nowhere near any kind of restaurant. More on the restaurant situation, later. If I said that the rooms are basic, it would be a massive understatement. My room was very much how I imagine that a prison cell would feel. This is well below what you would usually expect from an 'Ibis Styles'. The carpets in the hallway are worn out and stained. Everything here (apart from the reception area which seems to have had a recent refub) feels a bit past it's best. The photographs on the website are extremely 'flattering'. I paid an additional EUR 27 to have my dinner included. What I didn't realise is that when you present your 'dinner voucher' in the restaurant, you are limited to only a small number of fairly horrible things from the menu. The sum total of what's included for the EUR 27, is in no way worth EUR 27. I would have eaten elsewhere, but this place is in the middle of nowhere - so I ended up ordering a pizza from UBER eats. As a bonus, the woman who appeared to be running the restaurant had all the charm of a prison guard (given the feel of the rooms that's quite fitting, I guess?), had few manners and very little grasp of customer service. In truth, this place isn't terrible, but it's in no way worth the money that I have paid. Not even close. My advice would be stay somewhere else if you can and if you really do have to stay here, the 'dinner included' option is terrible value.
The shuttle service could be improved
8.0My main comment about this hotel concerns its free airport shuttle service. We arrived at Terminal 1, Marseille airport, at about 2100 on a Friday evening in October, and it was dark. It was easy to find the general area where hotel shuttle buses stopped, and we saw one or two shuttle buses – with their respective hotel logos clearly visible – drop or collect passengers from time to time. I rang the hotel and told them we wanted to be collected from Terminal 1, and that seemed fine. After about 20 minutes, I rang again (this time using a telephone point specifically for identified airport hotels, located in the waiting area: I hadn’t noticed it before). The agent acknowledged that it was the second time I’d called, and advised that the shuttle would be there shortly. We waited optimistically. Eventually, we were approached by a young lady who had been lingering for a short while not too far from us. She spoke – naturally enough – in French, and asked if we were waiting for “a bus”. Slowly, it became clear that she was actually the driver of the Styles shuttle bus … and so, finally, off we went. The shuttle bus was simply a generic black van – with no identifying logos of any kind. In fact, several identical such vans had already traversed the area. The only item which identified this vehicle as the Styles shuttle bus was a printed piece of paper stuck on with Sellotape to the van’s side window. It was not obvious at all, especially in the dark. The hotel itself was fine for an overnight stay. The staff were friendly, and we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast the following morning. But the shuttle bus needs to be much more clearly marked, Failing that (or in addition), the driver should be issued with some kind of placard (like airport taxi drivers often use) clearly showing the hotel that they are servicing. It would have made our arrival much less stressful.
OK but could use a make over
6.0Basic items for continental breakfast, a couple selections of cheese, 3 types of sliced meats( ham , chicken and another type of ham, juice and bread and pastries
Needs an Upgrade
2.0This place is more like 80’s student accommodation… “basic” would be charitable. Dirty carpets, no kettle for goodness sake. Underwhelming breakfast and nothing for dairy or gluten intolerant. Positives… air con sort of works and the shower is good.

6.0The checking was great. Front desk was super friendly The check out was horrible 4:30 am front desk different guy was rude when we ask if we could turn or the coffee machine, kept the main gate close we rang the bell a few time… our uber wanted to leave I had to run back inside couldn’t find the guy for a solide 5 minutes ( you know Ubers don’t wait that long) he was hiding in the back on the phone.
Not great, ok for one night.
4.0smelly, room doors dont open or close properly, aircon positioned incorrectly, for one night ok, near the airport too.
