We were not made to feel special.
6.0Beautiful setting and my family have been going to Devon Valkey for over 50 years
− We had to ask for a fire to be light in the beautiful bar/lounge area in the middle of May and were told that a fire can only be light subject to a certain no. Of guests. It was then only light! We had to leave the lounge area at about 9.30 pm as the bar was closed and sit in the diningroom to finish our special evening. This is not good hospitality.

− Für eine Weingegend, versteht das Personal herzlich wenig von Wein.
The front office and barman need to be empowered to make the right decisions on the night
6.0Very peaceful and beautiful location and have been a guest there for over 5 decades with my family
− We had to request for a fire to be light in the beautiful lounge / bar area in the early evening and were advised that the owner has a directive that a fire can only be light subject to a certain minimum no. Of guests. This is not acceptable when an overnight stay for 4 guests is still a significant amount of hard earned money. The fire was then light when I voiced my absolute displeasure. We had to vacate the beautiful warm bar after dinner, and before we were ready, and sit in the diningroom to finish our evening.

9.0This time the accommodation was for my Mother. However we have stayed at this Hotel on several occasions. Always an excellent choice for the Stellenbosch area.
